Crossroad Enterprises Wallace Jonhson Overpayment scam, wire transfer scam Staines, Middlesex, Internet
I run a small dog collar business called Doggie Stylish. A person named Wallace Johnson contacted me to place an order that was to be shipped to Australia. He insisted that I use a shipping company called Penny Lane Logistics for the shipping.
Penny Lane logistics told me that the package was going to cost $500 to ship to Australia and that I was to send them the money for shipping, in advance of pick up, via wire transfer to the UK.
After I said that I would NOT do this, Wallace Jonhson said that he would pay for the entire amount, shipping and all, via credit card. Once the money was in my possession, I was to wire transfer the shipping portion of the payment to Penny Lane Logistics.
I did NOT do this. This is obviously an overpayment/stolen credit card scam. I realize that these fraudsters can easily change biz names etc, but this might slow them down a bit.
