CrowdFund Mafia Employment Scam - Does not pay employees San Diego California
I work for Crowdfund Mafia as a PR Coordinator for about a month. Myself and several other recent college grads were told that we would only be paid if we got five media placements for a client in one week. I had no idea how PR worked since I was new but it turns out that most media outlets can't produce even one media placement in one week.
While the CEO will tell you that the job is "performance based" it is really just a scam to get free labor. He goes through wave after wave of new hires, setting impossible requirements for performance based pay and then waits for the hires to quit until he hires a new group.
I am not 100% if this is actually a scam or if the CEO does not know how to run a company. Either way, do not bother applying for a job with Crowdfund Mafia. You will not be paid. What you learn from working for free, you could learn from a book on Amazon. As a resume item, the presence of this company has worked against me as they have a reputation for these practices.
