Crye Leike, Inc. REALTORS Bobby Hill Bad mannered, Failed to do his job in a timely fashion Nashville, Tennessee
Bobby Hill is the Real Estate Agent responsible for selling a house that I (the buyer) am under contract with. According to our purchase agreement, it says: "Seller shall cause all utility services and any pool, spa, and similar items to be operational so that buyer may complete all inspections and tests under this Agreement."
To put it simply, after signing this, I have only 10 days to make inspections. I have scheduled 5 people coming to inspect/appraise the property (it's a fixer upper) a week after signing this agreement (all coming on the same day), which is totaling me over $1600. But here's the catch: Bobby Hill, who has full authority to contact the utilities company to have them turn on water and electricity for a day for inspections, simply did not do it.
He refused to answer calls from my real estate agent and finally my sister called him to ask why this was not done. He simply said that he would CALL them on the same day that we scheduled inspections and they would be turned on by the next day or the day after! How the heck does this help me? It was so difficult for me to get the appointments in the first place, and now I am supposed to ask them to re-schedule for the next day? It's at least a week on a waiting list for these inspectors, and I only have 10 days!
Anyways, so I asked him simply "Why exactly were they not contacted last week so that the utilities could be on by inspection day?" and he responded that if I have any complaints he is not interested in hearing them and he is busy, and then he hung up on me.
Is this appropriate behavior for a real estate agent?
