Crystal Vision Aka Micro Star Software Dbwith Borderbund ripoff false representation using Borderbund as a business partner Carlsbad California
Got a very nice phone call from CV stating for a trial membership of 19.95 I would recieve 50 software titles and a 20 dollor coupon for more titles. The rep also gave that I would save on namebrand ink refills and thats what was keeping their wonderful company going. Because of the Borderbund reference on numerous occasions, I accepted their offer.
After multiple attempts to contact their company with many messages and no response. I have yet to get through. If you cannot contact them within 30 days they charge you additional 49.95 plus tax for membership and what they don't tell you during the sales call is that you will recieve software every month at a cost of 19.95. Most of the software is out dated or shareware.
Quote=BBB San Diego "The following information has been optained from the Federal Trade Commission and is a summary only. For more detailed information, visit the web site at www.ftc.gov. On May 23, 2002, the Federal Trade Commission entered into a consent decree with Micro Star Software Inc., and its President, Stephen Benedict. Under the terms of the agreement, the defendant was ordered to pay a $ 90,000 civil, penalty, disclose all material terms and conditions of trial offers and continuity program memberships, and monitor the behavior of their telemarketing representatives. The FTC alleged that the company violated the FTC Act, the Telemarketing Sales Rule (TSR), and the Unordered Merchandise Statute."
Looks like now they are using the registration list from Borderbund, which is giving them a bad name in my book. I don't think I will be purchasing any more products from them.
