CSA Travel Protection - Generali Global Assistance Denied Travel Claim due to Tropical Storm San Diego California
I reserved a condo in the Navarre Beach, Florida, area, and was told that owner does not give refunds. I asked about pending weather issues, i.e, hurricanes, I was told by the reality agent that there was travel insurance that I could buy for $120. I purchased the insurance. At no time did I receive the terms or conditions that I purchased. When the end of May ,2018 came along, so did Tropical Storm Alberto. The storm was forcast to hit the Florida Panhandle area, and it called for 10-15 inches of rain. Also, the news stated that Florida had already received record rainfall in 2018. The Florida governor declared a state of emergency. As being a victim of the south Louisiana Flood of 2016, I canceled the trip. I was told by the realty company that since I purchased the trip insurance, I would have to file my claim with C.S.A. Well, the claim was denied because there was no mandatory evacuation order and the roads were not closed. It is sad that I did not receive any information about the insurance, and it took almost three weeks to receive the denial.
