CSEA Local 1000 Failure to protect the full time employees of the Cold Spring Harbor Fire District Commack New York
The union deligates of CSEA Local 1000 are incompetant, unknowledgable, and a disgrace. CSEA began representing the full time employees of the Cold Spring Harbor Fire District in 2010. Mulitiple, incompetant, deligates took 3 years to come to an agreement on a contract with the fire district. During this time, important issues were overlooked in the contract, such as health insurance for full time employees and health insurance for retired employees. Due to the mistakes of CSEA, retired employees lost their health insurance, and active employees will now have to pay a percentage of the health insurance. Two full time employees lost their jobs, due to technical Civil Service issues. CSEA never lifted a hand to protect their union members. One CSEA deligate was fired for unknown reasons and replaced with men and woman with many health issues.
At the beginning of 2016, the full time employees dissolved the union. CSEA was always there to collect the union dues. Phone calls to CSEA were never retuned. Meetings to come to an agreement were contantly postponed.
