Cub Shaver Mitsubishi ripoff dishonest sold my daughter a car which was a lemon Matteson Illinois
My 17 year-old daughter and I purchased a used Saturn from Cub Shaver Mitsubishi dealership today (04-17-04), as-is no warranty. I understood that it was a risk. The salesman stated that there were not foreseeable problems with the car. But the salesman did say that if there were any problems, Cub Shaver would not be held responsible.
Immediately after purchasing the vehicle and before she could get the car home to put gas in it, the radiator blew out, the anti-freeze ran out of the car and the car started smoking. My daughter called me and was crying and upset over what had happened with her new car. I called Cub Shaver for some assistance to get the car to dealer so that they could check it out and possibly fix the problem.
The Sales Manager offered no assistance to help me get the car back to the dealer and when I insisted because we were stranded and did not know what to do he started yelling and hung up the phone on me. We had to have the car pushed to a nearby auto shop to have it checked out.
After having the diagnosis we were told that the car had a bad radiator and that it would need a new one, we had to purchase a new one for $550. I am disappointed and feel sad for my daughter because her first car-buying experience had to end on a bad note. I am also very dissatisfied with the level of service after we were sold a car that clearly had mechanical defects.
