I bought an amplifier from curiocentricty for $900 using paypal.  The amp came to me via UPS.  The amp was damaged as follows:  2 broken power tubes, bent rear handles, bent main chassis, wiring torn from contacts and broken wires, tube cage bent and not square.  I contacted the original manufacturer and he said the repairs could run as high as $500 plus 2 power tubes for $100 and $230 shipping to and from Canada.  I made a claim to UPS and know they have settled with the shipper who is Allison Wright.

I have asked for a settlement of $400 for one half of the repairs.  Miss Wright refuses to to come to the table to help me repair this amplifier which is totally worthless unless it is repaired.  Her boyfriend Matt Schwartz told me when I bought it that it was working and he had just inherited the unit from an audiophile friend.  So here I sit with 110 pounds of worthless electronic amplifier and $900 out of my pocket for purchasing it.  I feel Allison Wright and Matt Schwartz have ripped me off

You might try taking them to small claims. You might get a wage garnishment, though I know the California Franchise Tax Board garnishes one of their wages. The most current address for this dynamic duo is 2343 Market St

Oakland, CA 94607 and try one of these #'s 415-599-6782 or 510-969-0510. I would also suggest contacting the California Dept of Consumer Affairs.
