Complaint Review: Custom Choice - Randy Agnew

 Like many others in Austin, we remodel a couple of homes per year. We've done this since 2008. Our usual contractor was not available for this job and we hired Randy Agnew, Custom Choice, and what a mistake! This house was purchased for $600k with an estimated sale price after remodel of $850k. $125 total budget with his contracted portion as $39k. First, this guy is not a GC. He cannot manage time or money at all. He claims to be an electrician, but do not trust he can do the work. Once I fired him, I had to pay a real electrician to rework 100% of everything he touched.

Do not allow him to tell you he can do tile, had to fix and redo terrible work. His plumbers do not know what they are doing, had to pay to replace plumbing after we fired him. Do not ever hire this guy to paint interior or exterior, had to repay true professionals to repaint interior and majority of exterior. There is much more, but you get the picture. Due to poor business management and workmanship, he always wanted to be paid more than the work that was accomplished. Could not be trusted to do job as requested, had to watch over constantly. His crews came to us to report that they didn't feel good about what he was telling them to do. Enough said , you get the picture.
