Custom Fit Wall Units Subsitute with low quality materials and poor workmanship Lake Elsinore California
After several attemps to try to resolve the problems without success, I resorted to filing a suit at Small Claims Court. Jim Rainford of Custom Fit Wall Units substitute the materials with the lowest grade wood possible and the products were made with many structural defects. Following is a list of all the problems. Consumer beware!
Entertainment Center:
1. Wood is not maple as contracted (used poplar).
2. Wood is not plywood as contracted (used particle board).
3. TV is not mounted on brackets.
4. TV is mounted by 2 screws and only inch deep. Danger of falling off over time.
5. The hanging board (for the TV/Brackets) should be removable not fixed, to allow access to TV if needed.
6. The bottom (base) of the unit is not leveled. Right side gap is bigger than left. Should have a baseboard to cover it.
7. Face frame around the TV separates. It's not glued or stapled tight.
8. Unit is not attached to wall. Hazardous.
9. Adjustable shelve holes are not aligned.
10. Unit is cut uneven, there for shelves don't fit evenly from front to back.
11. Drawers not properly installed and secured. They are out of alignment, too.
12. Top crow molding not level. Right side is 1 , left is 1 .
13. Component doors on the top are not aligned, need adjustment.
14. Left fluted panel was dented during transporting.
Bookcases:
1. Wood is not maple as contracted (used poplar).
2. Wood is not plywood as contracted (used particle board).
3. Adjustable shelve holes are not aligned.
4. Many chips on the shelves.
5. Side panel wood chipped.
6. Crown molding seam lines ill fit.
