Our small NGO signed a one year agreement with CVENT effective 4/1/2012, with automatic renewal unless cancelled by 2/28/2013.

Price was $ 950. Contract did renew, but 3 weeks later CVENT notifed us that the $ 950 package would no longer be available after this term, and that new price would be $ 2500 or more. The CVENT product is the management of event "forms", which the customer has first to develop on their platform. Since any planned new development (as well as all past ones) would have to be scrapped end of this term to be moved to another platform, we had no choice but to notify CVENT of immediate cancellation, and to move away from CVENT under duress, in an emergency. Cost to do so was $ 2750, and would only increase over time with any new survey that would be created.

This is a very large negative impact on our NGO, a non profit dedicated to the service of the poor. Even though the change in the commercial terms is quite material, CVENT insists on being paid the renewal term. We stopped using the service, and disconnected it from its web site, during March 2013. We consider the CVENT business practices as completely dishonest and unethical.

CVENT and Fidesco settled the matter without damage to either parry.
