On November 25, 2005 I purchased a CyberHome portable DVD player from a local retailer. I chose the CyberHome model based upon a manufacturer rebate offered. I filled out the rebate request form and sent the appropriate documentation approximately 5 days after the purchase.

Today, February 8, 2006, I finally received a notice from CyberHome Customer Care Department stating that the claim was invalid due to the Postmark not falling within the program dates.

The documentation was sent within the program dates. I attempted to contact CyberHome at the number on their website. Thus far, I have placed eight calls and have not been able to speak to an individual. The extension for rebate status (3) states that the extension is invalid. I tried other extensions for customer service, dealer sales, operator, and technical support all of which immediately go to voice mail or state that the extension is invalid.

It seems apparent that CyberHome took advantage of the holiday sale period by offering rebates to consumers without any intention of fulfilling the rebates.
