Complaint Review: Cybernet Ventures

Cybernet Ventures of Burbank, CA, is a sex site on the Internet. Somehow they obtained my credit card information and signed me up for a website called - CineMaster.Com. I have never HEARD of this site.

Cybernet have billed my credit card twice, once in April and again in May 2003 for the amount of 39.99 each. I discovered the charges on May 9, 2003, as I was reveiwing my online bank information. I noticed a pending transaction for a point of sale transaction for May 9, 2003. This caught my attention because I had not brought anything with my bank card in over a week. I called the 800 number that to see who was cybernet ventures and to see what I had pruchased for 39.99 two months in a row.

I was shocked to find out what the charge was for! I told the operator that I had never heard of CineMaster.Com and surely would not purchase a monthly access to a sex site for 39.99 a month.

I demanded to know how they got my credit card information, but all the girl on the phone would tell me is that they would refund my two month charges back to my bank card within 7 to 10 days.

How can a company get away with the unauthorized use of a credit card?

I wonder how many other people they have stolen money from by signing them up illegally.

I have reported Cybernet Ventures to the BBB of Southland, CA.
