Re: CYBERPOWER PC INC.
This letter is in response to your request for more information as to my dispute and complete refusal to pay for the charge to Cyber power PC. I first wish to state that I have filed complaints with The BBB in California, The California Attorney General and the Arizona attorney general not just alleging poor operation of a company, Poor customer service but also fraudulent and criminal business practices. I as you know am also requesting to return the computer for a full refund.
I am confused as to why a company would not be willing to allow a return especially since I have been requesting it for 4 months. The computer was a high-end model computer as I am sure you can see by the amount of the charge. I wanted an awesome PC for gaming. I originally ordered the computer in January it was supposed to be delivered in 10 day's 1 month later I called and after a small battle they admitted they did not have the parts to build the PC and I should re order in about a month.
I did not really like their customer service at the time however the price for the equipment was better than Dell or Gateway so I did reorder a month later. When I reordered they told me if I wanted the computer in a reasonable time factor I should pay for Fed Ex so I did.
When the computer arrived it was not in working condition. Windows would not boot and both the DVD Rom's were not working.
It took me 1 to two day's to reach there technical support department I immediately requested to return the computer but the tech support Representative spent some time calming me down We spent about 2 hours getting the DVD Rom's to work turns out that they were never connected and I had to sit under my desk learning how to install these drives. We then had to redo most of the bios functions to get window's working.
So I get off the phone with tech support and start using my new machine in the first week it froze so many times I could not even count but I would say at least 100 times also the computer added an extra administrator account that it automatically booted to. I have had many computers and you can set up your own user accounts. I finally had to password protected the unwanted account. So every time I log in I have to cancel and re log in to get to our user names. So I spent another week trying to get a hold of tech support.
Now I challenge you to call their tech support number and se what happens. Although I am told you already have and sat on hold forever. However I will tell you what happens you sit on hold for about 20 minutes listening to elevator music then they tell you to leave your phone number but then when you go to leave your number it go's to a busy signal and have to start all over.
So I got so mad that I called their sales number, which they answer immediately they tell you that they will take you number and have tech support call you when they can. I missed dozens of calls because they call you in the middle of the day when people WORK. So finally we started working on the problem I asked these people to return the computer more than five times during the first month. They kept saying they would fix it and I really wanted the machine.
We worked on the problems for weeks more. Finally after about a month and a half they said they could not figure out how to fix the problem I then told them that I absolutely wanted to return the machine and they told me no. The reason was it was after 30 day's.
Now they never disclosed a 30 day return policy and were so exceptionally deceptive in getting me to keep the machine by promising they could fix it that I got screwed. They then suggested get this that I call Microsoft and pay them to get technical support and see if they could get it fixed. I asked them if they were kidding they said no and that I could call back there tech support but that they could not help me further.
So I called Microsoft and paid them 60.00 for tech support they worked with me for over a month. I have to admit they were great but they could not fix the problem either. They told me that the base copy of windows from the manufacturer was probably corrupted and they suggested that to fix it I should probably spend 219.00 more dollars and upgrade to windows vista ultimate and that should fix the problem.
So I did what they said and upgraded to Ultimate it did not fix the problem. So now I am out 3400.00 I called Cyber Power back got in a huge fight with a Mr. LU He ended the call by telling me to F off. I called back and asked for the owners e-mail address I e-mailed him all about this before we left for Europe he never responded.
I again called tech support told them I was going away for a month they said to make sure I kept the computer on that it might fix the problem it of course did not. Now in the last couple of days the computer turns off and on without warning I mean the power just dies so I am pretty sure I have a defective power supply.
Here is where the consumer Fraud comes into play they are well aware of their return policy they do not tell you about it. You can get through to sales in seconds and it takes hours to get through to tech support. They can't fix their own machines but they string you out just long enough so they wont let you return it. That to me is blatant consumer fraud.
OH I FORGOT TWO OF THE USB PORTS DON'T WORK EITHER. So they sell Secondary subprime equipment string you out so you cant return it even when you ask to return it in the first 30 day's and then treat you like s***** . It is funny to me They still sell the same computer the parts should be reusable or refurbish able why do they fight so hard to keep you from returning it, maybe because they sell junk and don't care about the customer but only the money.
I have been a business owner sold the business you have those records I had your business card and I carry your Platinum card we spend lot's with you and all we ask is to return the merchandise for a refund. I do not wish any more dealings with this company and expect you to take care of us. I am hopeful that the AG's will investigate and find them criminally liable.
In closing I have to go buy a new computer in the next few days and you will see that charge too. A small amount of logic why would I have had the charges from Microsoft for tech support on a brand new computer second why am I buying a new desktop 4 months later one moth of which I was in Europe.
I can't emphasize enough that I don't need two desktops. I am begging, asking, telling, insisting and demanding that you make them take this piece of s**** computer back and somebody better give me back my money.
