Cybersonic ripoff consumer fraud Dominguez Hills, California
I ordered three Cybersonic systems in February 2001. By October one of the was not working properly. After trying for over 2 weeks to get through to "customer service" and being put on hold or getting messages about a high volume of calls and to call back, on 10/9/01 I sent a message via the company web site (which apparently no longer exists) and the next day I got a message back asking if the units got warm when charging. I responded that the unit did get warm whle charging. On 10/13/01 I received this message
"Your handle is defective and needs to be replaced. Please write "Defective" on the outside of the package and on your invoice, along with your name and address.
Please send the defective handle to the following address:
Cybersonic
685 W. Victoria St.
Dominguez Hills, CA 90220
We have already contacted the warehouse and they will be shipping an new handle to you. If you do not return the defective handle within 10-15 days, you will be charged for the handle amount. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us."
I returned the defective handle the next day. On 11/21 I still had not received my replacement so I wrote again and told them to send me a handle or a refund. I got no response at all.
On 12/9/01 I wrote again. By this time yet another handle was malfunctioning. This was my message:
"I have been unable to get through to you using the phone number provided on your web site. I am not receiving any response to my emails. I am trying one last time to contact someone in your company to find out why I have not received another handle.
In the meantime, a second handle that I ordered at the same time (I originally ordered and received three units) has begun to malfunction. It gets warm so seems to be charging. Yet, it will not turn on.
I have had these units less than one year. I paid far too much for them to not last any longer than this. Please notify me immediately who I need to contact and how to contact them so that I can get this issue resolved."
I got a response to that one on 12/13/01 stating the handles had been shipped. I received two new handles on 12/19/01.
Both of the new handles are no longer functioning. I have tried to contact Cybersonic and cannot get through via phone. The email I sent to the address I used previously to contact them came back with an error message that the address was not valid. I cannot locate a web site. I found this forum by putting "Cybersonic" in my search engine.
This company is ripping people off selling inferior products with wonderful sounding guarantees that they can't honor because they've disappeared. I want a refund of my purchase price for both of the malfunctioning units.
