I read a review about Cynosure today and I agree one hundred percent about the price gauging practices of Cynosure. BUYER BE AWARE AND DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE OWN BY THEM? I was warned and didn't listen. I used all the money I had to pirchase a Cynosure Elite for my laser hair removal business. The salesman was very friendly and professional but there is a lot he did not revealed to me. The 10,000 dollar a year service contract after only one year of owning my machine was something I could not afford even if I tried. Lets face it, laser business is not what it used to be. $10,000 a year for a service contract? Is their equipment so fragil, so breakable? YES! And every little thing will cost you your livelyhood. And good luck finding a repair person, Cynosure is very good at making sure you won't be able to fix your almost new equipment with any honest individual laser repair company.

My cooler System stopped working today and I called the company. They sent me an estimate for repair without even knowing what was wrong. The estimate was over $3,000 dollars. Mind you they don't really know what is wrong with it. In the estimate they included 3 hours of travel time for $160 per hour plus 2 parts of 1040 each and other charges without ever looking at my cooling system. If my laser breaks, I know I am going out of business because Cynosure OWNS My life now. My lasers is all I have. I take responsibility for not asking the right questions. Like. How much is your service agreement after one year? Parts? Travel charge for technician? Even the smallest part is a fortune. Plastic little parts that cost $5 cents in China are hundreds in Cynosure, THEY KNOW YOU NEED LASERS TO MAKE REVENUE AND THEY WANT ALL OF IT! THEY DO NOT CARE A BIT ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS. Do not let this company own you. There are a lot of great lasers out there. Please speak with independent laser techs before you buy a Cynosure and save yourself.

Laser devices are complex machines that need to be regularly serviced and properly maintained. Cynosure is committed to providing the best possible service to its customers.  Cynosure has the fastest turnaround time (24 hours) in the industry.  All Cynosure lasers come with a one-year warranty.  After the expiration of the warranty, the customer has the choice of purchasing an annual service contract or paying for service or repairs on an as-needed basis.  A standard annual service contract is generally priced at 10% of the initial purchase price of the device.  This pricing model is in accordance with industry standards.

In this case, at the expiry of the warranty period, the complainant did not purchase an annual service contract.  Accordingly, she will be charged separately for the repair of the laser.  The Cynosure quotation included the price for two parts that may need to be changed.  As noted by the complainant, this quote was provided without our having inspected the laser.  Therefore, the actual price she pays may be less than the quoted amount, if, for example, only one part needs to be replaced.  The quoted prices came from our price list.
