Complaint Review: D'Ambrosio Chrysler Jeep

In August of 2004 I took my Jeep Cherokee to D'Ambrosio Chrysler Jeep to have a problem looked at. The oil pressure would drop to near zero at an idle after the engine was warm and the check guages warning light would light up.

The first time I took it in the service rep. called me and told me that the mechanic found what was causing the problem. He indicated the wire connector to the oil pressure sender unit was bad and it needed to be replaced and it would fix the problem. They went ahead and replaced the connector and I was charged 158.00 dollars. Upon driving home from the dealsership the oil pressure dropped to near zero and the warning light came on.

I called Kenny Smith the service rep. back and told him the probem was still occuring. He told me to bring the vehicle back. I returned the vehicle to the dealership, they looked at it again. Kenny Smith called me and told me that his mechanic tested the oil pressure sender unit, and it was bad and needed to be replaced. He assured me that would fix the problem. The dealership replace the oil pressure sender unit and charged me 144.00 dollars. Again upon driving home from the dealership the oil pressure dropped to near zero and the warning light came on as it had done before.

I called the dealership back and indicated that the problem was still occuring and that I wanted a refund. I was told that was not possible but if I brought the vehicle back they would look at the Jeep again. I replied that I would not return and was very disappointed with the service I had received.

I took the vehicle to a different mechanic who found the real problem and fixed it right the first time.
