Complaint Review: D & A Restorations; D&A Gutters; Dennis Catano; Dionicio Catano

Dennis Catano, Jr, is owner of several alias business D & A Gutters, D & A Restorations, or Restorations. His real name is Dionicio Catano, Jr. Please do not hire him, if you choose to do so, look him up, do a background check. You will find a criminal record. He does not have valid licenses including a "drivers license". He does not have a drivers license! Yet he drives illegally. He does not have any business licenses. He will take your money, scam you, not do the work, and if he does some work it will be poorest quality. He took advantage of us post Harvey and has done same to many others. We are out several thousands of dollars. We have been trying to reach him for months, giving him opportunity to do right by us and he has disapeared.  We fell victim to him post Harvey due to the fact we had limited resources, were in a bad situation and contractors very hard to find after Harvey.

He presented himself as a trust-worthy caring hardworker. It was an act and a scam. We made the mistake  paying him half of the estimated costs up front. Lesson here: Check references, do a background check, ask for identification, business license, drivers license,  and proposals/documentation and receipts. Do not pay any money up front. Only pay when job is completed.  Do not be fooled by low prices. In the long run, the low price will cost you more in having to find someone else. People like Dennis will take advantage of you! He did us and others in our neighborhood. Attached are photos of him we located. These photos are dated as he is much thinner and older looking in person missing rotted teeth. The photos are of him. We have filed a police report and reported him to the State Attorney General Office for fraud.
