Complaint Review: D&G Custom Pools - The Swimming Pool Company Owner Danny Veno

We signed a contract on on February 13, 2008 to build a pool, spa, and BBQ grill structure at our home in Lewisville, TX. It was supposed to be done within 60 working days per the contract, barring weather delays. Today is October 16, 2008, over eight months have past and I only have gunite, tile and coping, PVC from the pool to the equipment pad, and deck steel complete. He has been paid for 90% of the work, his contract demands payment first then the work will be done.

D&G was given a information packet given to me by the Castle Hills water district outlining the permitting requirements. Castle Hills is not part of Lewisville, I explained this to D&G and they still sent the permit to the City. This delayed the permit process and the excavation didn't happen until the first week of April. He started work prior to getting the permit and the water district doubled the fee as a penalty.

The companies' physical address, email address, and phone numbers were all changed without notice. The website, even now, does not specify the physical address. If you call the phone number, the answering message says "pool request hotline".

There has been weeks of no work being done, dozens of emails and many phone calls unreturned. The original salesman quit. His replacement that was supposed to be handling my job quit or was fired.

Subcontractors were/are not being paid. Danny Veno blames everything on the people that he has hired not doing their jobs.

On the contract was an eight foot shear descent, they overlooked that and what I got instead was a one foot scupper, which is very disappointing.

I had to pay $550.00 to repair my sprinklers so my lawn wouldn't die.

There are at least five other people that I know of that have not gotten their pools finished by D&G. One sued in small claims court, won, and can't get him to pay the money that was awarded.
