D R Horton, Emerald Homes Emerald Homes They failed to correctly record item (Lawn) to issues with home before closing. In my opinion the representative REMOVED item from list after the fact so as to not be responsible for repair. Both my wife and I were present for discussion and after the complaint was filed, the paperwork suddenly failed to record the facts as discussed. After literally 100's of hours of calls, meetings, emails and face to face visits they are only willing to pay for approximately 20% of the repair cost. They even sent some low level VP that told me "it didn't look too bad." They fail to recognize the fact that their representative inaccurately recorded, or fraudulently removed information from our file. 

At each step of the process there were discrepancies with EVERY employee.   After blaming their sub contractor, GreenPoint, the sub made promises which he never lived up to and in fact lied about.

This company has tried every trick in the book to claim NO Responsibility for anything.  In fact their offer to pay for APPROXIMAITELY one fifth the repair cost demanded I remove my claim with the BBB.  The BBB has done nothing to forward this complaint.  Clearly I do not pay enough to support their self perpetuating business model to warrant any true consideration.

It is my contention the representative that was responsible for this fraudulent act is no longer in their employ.  Their salesperson actually warned me and my wife to "keep an eye on him, he has a reputation as a snake." with customers.

I believe they knew he was a problem based on other issues and our issue just happened along when it did.

I would not recommend doing any business with this company.  In our 18 months in the house we have had multiple issues with materials, workmanship, warranty items and just the general quality of the build.  The cCompany dropped out of the luxury market in our development because they were having too many issues (cost/quality) according to the salesperson. She said they could not compete in that market.  Ours was the last one they built correctly but were not going to build any more.  Apparently they built one too many!
