I am a 19 year old student with a dream in mind. I own an 82 Chevrolet Camaro and my dream has been to enter it in a car show. Ive owned it two years and have slowly fixed it up (when having money allows). In May of 2002 It came time for me to graduate from high school and all my car needed was a paint job, so I asked for a paint job as a graduation present from my parents. After a lot of begging they said yes. So now it was time to go bargain shopping.

I checked with a guy that did my sisters old car named Dennis Enright. I have always heard pretty good things about him and I liked the way my sisters car came out. I took my car to him to paint and he gave me an estimate of $1,100.00 and said it would be three weeks tops. In early June I took my car to him already completely taken apart. All he had to do was sand and paint. At the end of six weeks I got it back.

It had fisheyes all in the paint(unsuitable for a car show). So I took it back to him and asked if he could fix the fisheyes. He said ok. We went through this same procedure 6 times. He had my car nine weeks. He came by my house(because he was an old family friend) and said he couldnt find out what was causing the fisheyes and he was going to try one more thing and if that didnt work he would return it like it was. He was nice the whole time he had it. So when I went to pick it up it still looked the same so I said that I needed it back so I could have time to take it somewhere and have it fixed. He said ok, then turned to a worker and told him to sand it.

That made me mad so I went and told my dad what he said and my dad called and talked to him. Dennis told him that it was to late so my dad said it better look the same way as when it went in. I automatically went to pick it up from him. My car was completely trashed. It looked like someone had taken 120 grit sandpaper and went at it. NO WATER WAS USED like in a typical wet sand. I ended up taking it to P & K Paint & Body Shop and ended up costing me 3 months without my car and my mom 3 months of sharing her car with me. Plus a total of $2,500.00 instead of $1,100.00.
