My associate and I reached an agreement with Charmaine Benjamin-Werth, a principle of d-Studio, to use her house in Antigua for a week in exchange for her use of my associate's Manhattan apartment. After we had already purchased our tickets, taken time off from work and cancelled other plans, Ms. Benjamin-Werth backed out of her agreement and ceased correspondence. She offered no explanation and never returned our numerous phone calls and emails. We were left with expensive plane tickets to an island where we no longer had anywhere to stay and ruined plans. While I have not dealt with d-Studio in a business sense, I believe that such immoral behavior committed by their principle says a lot about the company's integrity. I would recommend that any customer think twice about my experience with Ms. Benjamin-Werth before deciding to hire d-Studio for any project. I believe that her handling of this situation demonstrates that she does not possess the ethics or integrity that one should look for in a contractor.

Following is correspondence with Matt.

I have yet to receive a response from him.

Hi Charmaine,

I am one of the people who was planning on staying at your house over the
week between Christmas and New Years. After being assured that your offer
was for real and that we could use your place, I cancelled my previous plans
to go skiing and after much searching for available tickets, purchased some
rather expensive tickets to go down to Antigua next week. After doing
this, you can imagine my frustration after hearing that you had backed out
of your offer. I find this incredibly irresponsible and am curious as to
how you plan to rectify the situation after your decision cost us not only
financially, but also a valuable week of vacation in which we each had other
options to pursue. Now we are stuck with a bill and a week at home. If you
have a conscience I expect both an explanation for your actions (the transit
strike?) as well as how you plan to make it up to us.

Hope to hear from you.

Dear Matt,

I have just recieved you mail, as I was sailing the Danube without internet access for the past 10 days. i am in Prague at the moment. I tried to contact Dave several times on the 15th, 16th and 17th of December whilst I was in NY. I, as well as my husband left both voice mail and e-mail messages for him. We had no response, and never actually got a confirmation form him whilst in NY. I have just checked my e-mail for the first time sice the 17th, and there is one message form him stating his suprise that we had to make otherplans. I could not leave NY without confirmation that we would have a place to stay upon our return. After not hearing from him, we had to go with alternate plans. I do apologize for your expense with the tickets, and perhaps you can plan to come at another time in the up coming months. I will contact you on our return to NY if you would give me your telephone number. My number is xxx xxx xxxx. I will be back on the 29th.

Again apologies, and we will be in contact.

All best wishes,

Charmaine Werth
