My nephew tried adding a "free" ringtone he thought I'd like to my phone but ended up adding only a subscription to Dada.net for $9.99/mo..  He came to me when it wouldn't work and it turned out that not only didn't they have the ringtone he was trying to add, but that "not available" message was shown in light gray in a small font on their web page next to big bold buttons which made it look like you would be continuing the process of adding this free ringtone.  It was confusing for me to figure out as an adult, I can see how he was tricked.

I immediately texted back "Stop" which appears to have worked, but I sent a followup email as well to confirm I wouldn't be charged.  They replied within a day and said they would be charging me for one month despite the immediate cancellation and that nothing was downloaded and that the "contract" was initiated by a minor.  Total sleazebags.

I contacted my cellphone carrier (AT&T) and they were extremely helpful and immediately reversed the $9.99 charge and offered to put a free purchase block on my phone which requires me to enter a private pin before charges can be added.  I of course did add that feature to my phone to avoid future issues.  Hooray AT&T, shame on Dada.net!
