Complaint Review: DAKmart

I will write about my own experience with DAKmart a little further down, but it reads pretty much like the vast majority of the reviews, VERY DISSATISFIED. I really find it hard to believe a company in this day and age is allowed to stay in business while operating just one step ahead of the law. After seeing they actually manipulate their own EBay reviews, and slam any customer that complains. And reading the detailed dissatisfied customer reviews today, it is pretty obvious who is posting the one liner positive reviews in this venue. I would have thought that PAYPAL would have gotten tired of acting as DAKmart accountants and public relations personnel.

Now as for my comparatively minor disappointing experience with DAKmart I placed two orders, totaling a little over $500.00, to be delivered to family for Christmas. On Friday afternoon, 19 Dec 2008, I received an Email from Samantha Wilson stating "Sorry, your order has been voided, out of stock", so much for delivery by Christmas. Fine, I reordered the items from another vender (and saved $$), however the original orders still showed being processed on their homepage. After 16 emails (with no response), and 8 phone calls (left messages, no response), I finally talked to a person who assured me the orders were being cancelled. They are still showing Being Processed' on the site, so I called the credit card company just to be sure.

I'm not really surprised by DAKmart's poor management and company policies (or lack thereof). What surprises me is EBay, Paypal, customer review sites, and other retail policing organizations have let a company like this get away with so much for so long! Needless to say at this point if the company is DAKmart, just say NO.
