I have lived here for over 4 years and recently things have gotten bad. The water bills are outragous. 69.00 per month! The Townhouses have no insulation which has caused my electric bill to be well over $200. per month.
Many of the empty apartments have black mold throughout them. This caues helth problems. You can look through the blinds and see it on the walls. GROSS!!!

It is not safe at all. People have been robbed and cars broken into and still we get no notices of the incidents. We have no security. The so called security gates have not worked since I moved in. Cars speed through while children play.

Nothing in th apartment get fixed. I have had a leak in my living room that floods it when it rains. So they fixed it by replacing the wall, but not fixing the leak. There was a leak in my bathroom that was only fixed after I told them I had an asthma attack from the smell. So they pulled up the carpet and put tile, but didn't replace the base boards which are now moldy. They also were cleaning the pool, when they cleaned them, with clorox bleach-CAN YOU SAY ILLEGAL!!! Don't swim here. I hate this place and am getting out of hear. I hope other people see this web site!!

Apt Probs? You can do a few things!

You can do a few things:

1. Contact the Houston Apt Assoc & file a complaint. ou can do it online with this link:
http://www.haaonline.org/haaweb/HAA/rr/rr_form_preface.cfm

2. DOCUMENT EVERYTHING! Because...if the landlord is in violation of para. 31 of the TAA lease agreement (Default By Owner) you have leverage.

3. This sounds bad, but try cleaning the mold off. Houston is humid and if your A/C condensing unit, etc is not working properly it offers a wonderful breeding ground for mold. Clorox Wipes work wonders.

4. Have you just tried going in and having a face to face? Go into the Leasing Office - WHEN THE PROPERTY MANAGER IS THERE - (you may want to set up an appontment), sit down, and calmly try to work things out by letting them know your issues and concerns. Trust me - it costs a ton more to re-let an apartment then it would for them to just get your air ducts cleaned and throw some weather stripping on your doors and windows.

and finally 5. Find out when your lease is up, give proper notice, and MOVE!
