Dan Heskett ripoff internet scam on rental property Rowlett Texas
I had found an ad in the Dallas Morning News about a home for rent at(((ROR redacted address for security purposes))) in Rowlett TX. My family and I were relocating from a long distance away, so a close friend of mine went and looked at the house. People were still living there, but there were boxes everywhere as if they were packing...everything seemed in order and the house was what we were looking for. We called Dan Heskett back and said we would take it.
He had said he needed the deposit in order to tell the people to completely move out...made sense. He said he was out of town and that we needed to western union it to him...so off goes $600 for the deposit and we thought we had a home for our family.
A couple days later he calls about the rent itself. He was giving us the "rest of the week free", but needed July's rent up front. That was fine too, so off goes $995 to hime via western union...said he would fax my husband the lease that night at work...never did, didn't think much of it since it was the middle of the night....that was the last time we actually talked to him...
Moving day come and here we were--7 hours from our family with 4 kids and everything we owned in a uhaul. The kids were all wanting to get to their "new house" as we were all SICK of being in a car. We finally find it and nothing had moved since my friend looked at the house. No one would answer the door, he wouldn't answer his phone still, and we were stuck!!!! I was bawling...I had no idea what to even tell my children, much less what to do...
Luckily for us, we went to my friends house and located a beautiful home that we love dearly the very same day and started moving in....but we are still out the $1600 to this con artist and I would do ANYTHING to get it back....
He is a rip off artist deluxe and apparently has help in his little scheme as my friend was allowed into the home to view it. It makes me sick that there are people out there willing to take your hard earned money in such a way. I will never stop until this man is found and made to stop all the wrong he is doing.

I delt with Dan Heskett about two years ago and just got a hold of a lawyer. He has suggested that everyone that has a problem to call the Texas FBI about him. This is what I have done. The only reason it would go to the FBI is because he has scammed people in different states and countries.

Dan, what is there to discuss?
Why not just return the money.
YOu dont even have to talk to them....
Dear victims...please go BACK to the western union. They might be able to provide the details of who picked up the money. I would think that you could use that information to file a CIVIL report. Then you haul his hiney into court! Let him explain where your money went to a judge. Forget the set ups and the stings, let the police department do that for you. They will serve him with a summons. If he does not appear, that is great then that summons will turn into a bench warrant. If you bring in the proof from the western union (that you wired the money and that he picked it up) I dont see what would be left to discuss. Also talk to the court clerk about putting a lean on his house. If /when he tries to sell it /when he goes to h**l then when his estate tries to sell it your claim will be there.

Now that I have seen that you have once again attempted to deny any wrong doing, I will make SURE the police are contacted to your scheme. I have printouts of all these comments, my reciepts for the western union payments and statements from everyone involved. I am now ready to pursue my case against you. I have not threatened you in any way shape or form! I am simply stating that I am done with your games and want my money back. Once the police dept has your case, my lawyer will also. This is just a fair warning of what is about to happen.

Holly, If you take your case to the Carrollton Police Dept. they will open an investigation on Dan Heskett. You need to file a "theft by deception" report on him. He is not going to answer his phone. The only reason he answered to our rebuttal is because the reporter from the DMN told him that this had been taken to the police. I have tried calling him several times and it's just useless. I don't know how to contact you, but I really hope we can catch this guy. GOOD LUCK & GOD BLESS!!! Hope to meet soon.

If you have any suggestions please let me know. This is for you Dan;you are in a real mess. If you really want to fix this you need to contact us. The ball is in your court. I have been trying to contact you for months. You made it a public issue when you failed to communicate with any of the people you have taken money from. Why do we need to keep hunting you down? The house in Rowlett has been vacant and ready to move in to. I had also made arrangements for this couple to meet with the then current renter to get keys etc.....

I constantly come into this site to see if anyone else has been ripped-off by Dan Heskett and I just couldn't believe my eyes when I read your ad. I know exactly how you feel. He did the same thing to me (a single parent). It was very devastating. I'm out $1250 (I filed a police report with the city of Plano. I suggest you file a report with the police department. I also suggest you complain to the Dallas Morning News.
They are unknowingly working with a criminal. I would really like to help you.I went to the condo he was supposed to be selling me and I also was let in to see the condo by a black female.Does this sound familiar? I am going to get this man, one way or the other. If we team up we may be able to at least see him go to jail. I am really hot! I cannot believe this. You can also go to a site call (((ROR REDACTED LINK FOR SECURITY PURPOSES))) You will find a different phone number for him. He never answers that either. But, maybe we can set him up somehow. Let me know through this site if I can help or if you are willing to help me get this man.
