Dan Nelson In Souix Falls sold me a car for twice what it should've been and only ran 2-3 weeks In June and they never fixed it. Souix Falls South Dakota
In 2003 I had went to Dan Nelsons to purchase a car as they advertised a big sale and could finance anyone. Since I had not yet established creditbeing almost 19 and haveing a young son and working needed a vehilce for every reason.
My mother and I went there explained I had no credit and my mom was not in a position to help me finacially and didn't want to co-sign. They took my work information etc for a credit application and said I had no credit, which we already know.
After going ove a buget payment plan on what I could afford we then went to a back lot of which I qualified for to pick out a car that would fit my budget and needs.
We went to the lot and there weren't many cars all very used and the one I wanted to try they had no title for yet and there was only one left due to the big sale. I didn'e really care for it but needed a car. We test drove it and went inside.
They then set up payments and my mother wanted me to sleep on it and I wanted a car so she left and they did the paper work. We kept asking how much and they said it would only be payments that they set up for a year then I could come back and get any car even a new on.
We set up payments and I drove the car home and being new to the credit world had no idea about interest ( which they had 24.95% on the loan) or what cars are worth. It was a 1993 buick Centry for $7616.85) They required a $500.00 down and a differed down payment of $150.00.
The car was financed with tax and licsence included to make amount financed $7031.85. My payments were $120.35 bi weekly. I wished I had listened to my mom or that she could have know what the price was as she said it was a way to much money esp the interest rate.
By the time the car would be paid for I would have spent $10861.15 for a car that was 10 years old. The car had problems in only 2 months and was on a warranty of 12 months or 12000.
I called repeadly on the car needing fixed and told to get it fixed and send them the bill, which I did and they never paid. This however was not all that was wrong.
I had several mechanics look and work on it and no luck. No one knew where to start.
It had new spark plugs and wires, Mass air flow sensor ( which the car computor said was all that was wrong),and some other sensor and the car still wouldn't run withou dying from less than 2 blocks from start.
They wanted me to bring it to them to fix and I had no money to tow it and CNAC (carolyn) said not to make payments till they did something to rectify the situation. I had to use my monter's car for almost a year while it set parked in her driveway.
My mother then borrowed money tohelp me get another vehicle as she needed her car for work also. It put a lot of stress on me and my mother, until she had enough money to help with another car.
I had a son when I gto the car and since have had a daughter it is a necessity to have a car and work. Since I got the other car I lost my sone to homicide and have been harrassed for over a year on the cal loan,
They wanted me to make 4 payments then they would see what they could do, because it was no longer on warranty. If they had taken care of this right away things might have been different.
The last I talked to CNAC Carolyn no longer worked and the person was very mean and rude to me and my mother and said there was no record of any calls ever being make!
Finally in December I believe they came and got the car from my moms driveway which wa about amonth after my son's death. They timeing and lack of compasion and lack of being responsibly for their sale has been tough.
I had no Credit and now I have bad thanks to them. I have to pay for a car that I only drove a couple of months, and my mom stored and still have to pay 2xs what it was worth.
Please help me to stop this from happening to others and to find a way to get this off my credit report. They need to correct this situation.
