In February 2012, I bought a 2006 Suzuki Forenza from the used car part of Dan Perkins Subaru.

The person who sold me the car is a good friend of my Father of over 30 years. He is also the Manager of the used car department. His name is John Darcangelo.

When I got the car, the center council was broke, the inside door handle snapped off and the catalytic converter needed to be replaced. Yes, I was reimbursed for the parts, but still. This is ridiculous. It also took them a long time to get the car registered through the DMV system. I had to go back for my registeration and for them to put my plate on. Plus I was there for 2 hours waiting for them to get the paperwork and car ready.  I also bought an extended warranty. I also finance the car through their finance department, Family Financial.

I have complained to John several times about the car. He gave me an attitude and told me to go to service. He was trying to brush me off. You are friends with my Father for so long you go and rip off his daughter. That is sickening. I left John nasty messages on his cell phone. I was so mad. He is a scumbag and I will expose his name on this report so people know not to deal with him.

Then month after month small things would go wrong with it. I also had body work put into it because I don't like dents and noticable scratches on my vehicles. I am peticular like that. One thing after another. I took it to the service department several times because I knew the transmission was going. They kept telling me it was fine every single time I went. They also offered to do some maintenance work on the car. Trying to upsell me. They wanted like $500 for all this work. I told them no. David was actually the person I dealt with who worked in service.

David gave me an attitude because I have brought my car there to have the transmission looked at several times and I have a warranty. Other small things needed to be done to it and I told him no then he said he would charge me a diagnostic fee. He actually said to me "You keep bringing your car here and never have us do work on it. I am going to charge you a fee." I couldn't believe it. I am not going to pay $500 for new tires, alignment and rotation when I could go to Town Fair Tire and have it done for $275.

This punk actually tried to play games with me because I wouldn't let him do the work. I did let them do some work but then I found out David had the technician roate my tires. The new ones on the back and older ones on the front. I didn't need that. It was already done a month before. I just paid them and left it alone.

I decided to stop going there and go to the actual Suzuki dealer service department down the street from Dan Perkins. Napoli Motors really helped me a lot. I had to take the car to them a few times for my trnasmission. Jennifer, who is the Service Manager had the technicians run diagnostics and they couldn't find anything. Then Jennifer suggested having the transmission fluid flushed. I agreed and had it done.

That didn't work. Jennifer told me she needed to keep the car for a day or more. She needed the technicians to feel what was going on with the car because every timethey drove it, nothing ever happened. Jennifer gave me a loaner and finally ,after 2 days, the transmission slipped for them. Jennifer was so patient and friendly with this car. She told me step by step on what to do. She really knows her stuff.

Luckily the car was under factory warranty. She ordered a brand new transmission. I waited a week for it to come in and then it was put in. I got another loaner too while they had the car overnight. The technician had an attitude at Suzuki but not Jennifer. I am grateful for all her help.

Between simple maintenance to major mechanical problems on this car, I am fed up. I still have the car. i am stuck with the peice of junk until it is paid off next year. As soon as it is paid off, it is getting sold and I am buying a SUV.

Nothing but trouble with this car. Suzuki is junk. Dan Perkins Subaru sales and service is rude and they do not care. Trying to shrug me off saying there was nothing wrong with my car. I know what a transmission slipping feels like.

I will never in my life go there again. Only if I have to for my extended warranty.

Do not go to Dan Perkins Subaru in Milford, Ct. They sold me a lemon and they don't care about their customers. Beware of John Dearcangelo and David from service. Both jerks.

aOn 05/21/2013, David from Dan Perkins Service called me because he heard about this report. He apologized if there was any misunderstanding between him and I. He also told me if there is anything I needed in the future, he would be more then happy to help me. I felt kind of bad because David was sincere when I spoke to him.

He is knowledgeable in the field he works in and I am sure he has been doing this for a long time. I am happy David talked to me to straighten things out. Not many people would do that. So I give him credit and wish him the best of luck in the future.

As far as John from the used vehicle part of the dealership, I haven't spoken to him but I know from a source that he has been very generous a lot in the past and has been taken advantage of. John did go out of his way to help me get the loan on this car. Unfortunately, it has given me a lot of problems.

I decided to go back to Dan Perkins and look into getting a better car. Avrom, who is the Sales Manager will be helping me in the process. He was very friendly when I went to the dealership to talk to him. He will be working on my request for a better car. If I can't get approved right now, it is okay. I will try in the future but at least I am getting good customer serivce.

After all this I can say Dan Perkins does try and make up for bad customer service. I would reccommend them to other people.
