I hired Danjill photography and Dana Titus the owner advertised as "award winning" professional. I did research after my horrible experience and found her listed on site named Photo.net stating she was NEW to hobby just 6 months ago! She was such a phony! Fake b***s and all! She did not take any pictures of my baby along with my older child as she was hired to do. She talked on and on about how rich she is, and she is just doing this "photography thing" to get out of the house!! She cancelled twice and even brought one of her kids to the shoot!!! She got mad and left when I complained about the bad weather and asked if we could reschedule. Dana Titus was very unprofessional and Danajill Photography is not even registered with the state as a valid business. My proofs were blurry and out of focus. Now Dana Titus will not even return my calls. What a joke. Do not use this self-absorbed phony as she will demand payment up front and not deliver. I am filing a complaint with BBB.

Danajill.com , Danajill Photography, and Dana J Titus is not worth your time or money!!

Wed, August 05, 2009

This person is using my company name Pleasanton Photography along with business information and pictures fraudulently. She has added her info to Google and other Photography search engines as Pleasanton Photography. This company has been in business since 1992 and has never heard of Dana Jill or Dana Titus. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS PERSON UNDER THE NAME PLEASANTON PHOTOGRAPHY.
Thank you.
The Owner of Pleasanton Photography

I'm a customer of danajill, have hired her for two sessions in the past. Both were photographing my kids. I was the one who found this rip off report, stumbled onto it by accident and sent it to dana so she could respond. i didn't even have to ask her if it was true. This is so obviously NOT anything dana would do. She is the most professional photographer I have met and my kids have been photographed for magazines dana got pictures no one else could get of my kids. I wasn't going to let this go without responding. her images are stunning, and she's too shy to tell you when she gets recognition for her work, but it happens all the time. she works with several charities and endlessly donates her time and talents to them. the quality of her work is on her website, so don't take my word for it, you can see it on her site danajill.com. the person who filed this report is off their rocker otherwise i'm guessing it's a competitor who is upset. none of it makes any sense. several of my friends have used her, all happy. why is this garbage allowed to be published without any proof and the person just uses the name anonymous? the person puts in all kinds of variations of her name to get it to come up in online searches too. that's slander. ridiculous.

FALSE Report filed by a person who received Pro-Bono (charitable) services!

One of my clients forwarded me the link to this horrible and false report filed by a supposed client. I normally do not respond to anything that is said on the internet. Many of my clients have submitted raving reviews to various websites, and the client who sent me this link was quite stunned to read about a supposed "rip off" report -- as was I.

Normally I would be extremely concerned if a client was unsatisfied with my work. If any client had truly called me to express a problem, a re-shoot would be INSTANTLY offered and/or a FULL refund. I always return calls and emails as my clients will tell you.

After reading what this "anonymous" person had to say, I realized exactly who it was who filed the report. The details were thankfully so specific that I was able to determine it was a complaint made by a very disturbed individual.

I do not advertise this fact, but I work with several charities that offer pro-bono (free) photography services to those who can't afford it; I donate my time, my equipment, and my skills to these people and they are usually so incredibly greatful to me, that it's better than any form of payment!

However, a few weeks ago, I did one of these sessions and it was very strange from the beginning. I was assigned to photograph a family who said their house had burned down, and they had literally lost everything. This is what they told the organization that contacted me. I decide which pro-bono sessions I will do, and this one tugged at my heart-strings. I wanted to give them something at a time when they had nothing else to look forward to.

I contacted the family and we agreed to meet a park in Pleasanton (their idea). I explained that I would waive my session fee and provide them with a CD of high resolution images. The man I spoke with did not thank me. Instead, he asked several times how many images he would get and how long it would take to get the proofs.

Yes, the shoot had to be rescheduled twice-- it was pouring rain BOTH times we were scheduled to shoot. I can control just about everything during a photography session, but unfortuntately, not the weather. When the session did finally take place, I met "B" and his family -- the first thing he said to me was "wow this town seems rich, you live here? Everyone here seems rich." HUH? I just ignored it. His wife did not make eye contact with me. I noticed a bruise around her eye and that instantly got my attention. The two children (older child and one baby) seemed very active but that was not going to be a problem for me, as I am used to handling any situation that comes my way. "B" actually came out and told me his kids were "brats" -- right in front of them. I couldn't believe it.

Yes, I brought my 10 year old daughter with me. This is how I know exactly who filed the report, as he made reference to this fact -- this is the ONLY time I have brought a child of mine to a session. The reason was that I want my daughter to value and appreciate the concept of giving back to your community; to see her mom, a successful local photographer, donating time and effort to someone in need is a something I want her to emulate. There was no other reason to bring her to the session, as I have more than adequate child care for my 3 children when I work.

Back to this person's allegations. I was able to get PLENTY of shots of B"'s kids both together and separate. At the end of the shoot, as I was packing up my camera and gear, he pulled me aside and asked me if I do "bedroom photography"... I assume he meant budoir but didn't know the correct terminology. I told him that I was sorry, but I do not, yet I would be happy to recommend a photographer who does this type of work (thought it would not be pro-bono). He became very irritated and asked why I couldn't do it. He then asked if I was a model (very ODD question to ask a photographer but I kept my composure as best I could). When I said no, he looked me up and down and said "uh huh." The unfortunate reference to my breasts (disgusting that he would call them "fake") is probably due to the fact that I was still breastfeeding my youngest child. He proceeded to ask when he would be getting an album of our session pictures. I explained that my arrangement with the charitable organization is to provide a CD of high resolution images for free (normally I charge $850 for this product), and that he is welcome to print his own images. Again, he became irritated and said he wanted actual prints from me. At this point, he was standing very close to me and practically yelling, and I became afraid for my safety. Our session was over, so I got my daughter in the car and we left. I returned home to find several threatening emails in my inbox from this person. I quickly blocked him from my email list and notified my ISP.

A few days after our session, I emailed the organization that arranged our session and advised them of this situation. They apologized and admitted to me that they did not screen this particular applicant very well. Although I still truly believe in the concept of pro-bono photography, I will be alot more selective in the future with who I donate services to.
