Five guys drove in a red GMC pick up truck. They drove by and returned to ask questions about our grass. They explained that they can help save our lawn from crab grass and weeds. They did a 5 min demonstration. They had bags of soil and came and did their demo. Then the owner said he can start on a section of the lawn with 10 bags. So I asked "how much?" The guy said "we have to wait and see how much your lawn will need. His english is broken but I spoke to him in spanish.
He explained that it was $8/bag and He showed me and said that it's very good soil and they will add the seed and weed killer and it will help our grass. He started doing it, once he used the bags, he said he needed to cover the other half of the lawn. We said ok, it took 10 bags and now we have to add more bags to cover the other part of our lawn. All in all he kept putting more bags and taking advantage of us. He was convincing us to pay the amount of bags and seeds at $8.00 a bag. We were blown away that he was charging so much when he said that it was only going to take 20 bags total. It came out to be around $800.00 dollars! We started to become sceptical and began asking questions on why so much. From there he started giving us a dicount of a dollar less on the bags and some of the other products. We ended paying close to $600.00 dollars in cash!:(After all that we were telling ourselves that it was going to be ok and that the grass will grow like he said it would. (countinued below)...
... Two weeks went by and we called him several times to ask him questions about the grass and seeds that he put in. He didn't answer the first couple times, then he answered and we asked him to come over and check out the grass and ask him why it wasn't growing as he said it would. Only some spots were growing but most of it wasn't. My wife saw him not to far from our house and saw that he was also doing another house. She asked him to come over and check out the grass, he never should up. I finally went online and checked "Ripoff Report" and yes it does show him that he has been reported and found out that he is scaming people left and right. I saw and read the complaint from "Truth7". it's all true was she said about him.
Just to let you know Truth7 that I have his license plate number and his phone number. He's still around this area. He also has a grey pickup truck too, (don't have his plates on that one). Let me know what we can do.
