Daniel Andrew Head Andy Con Man--- Con Man Contractor who over promises and steals without doing the work Houston Texas
Daniel Andrew Head, also know as Andy, came into our office to solicit contract work, since we refurbish homes. He talked like he could do any job and had many crews available for him to complete a job in less time than most contractors. We are always looking to expand our contractors list because of the many homes we have to repair.
We decided to give him a chance to see what he could do. His prices were a bit higher than what we would normally pay, but thought if he could do a job as well as he "talked" then it could be worth the extra money. At first all seemed right, he only asked for a 1/3 of the money to start the job and would be coming to us as the job progressed to get more money. He said this particular job he could have done in less than 3 weeks, which was perfect since we needed to get this done asap.
As the weeks progressed we heard alot of excuses as to why he was unable to get the work done and that he started and stopped working because he needed more money. We went to check on the job and he had done some work, like demo, but demoed areas we did not agree to do, he sold appliances and vanitys out of the home and said he didnt think we would want them because they were "old" looking and wouldnt look good in the home after he remodeled it! He reused sheetrock to cover holes in the walls left from the previous owners, which is not what we agreed to, he was to replace the sections that were previouly damaged. We asked for him to show receipts on what supplies he had purchased for the job and he could not produce them.
Well it is now 2 months later and he hasn't done a thing except destroy the home and take our money. When we asked him to explain his actions, he could not. As expected from a CON-MAN, he lashed out. He named called everyone who was in the room and stormed off. In the process of him leaving he backed into a car with a child in it, twice!
The long and short of it, is PLEASE DO NOT HIRE THIS GUY! I wish I did a little more research before we entered into a contract with him, but I didnt. If I would have seen thie other entries from 2011 on this site, we could have avoided a substantial amount of money.
