To my fellow colleagues in the media and news industry as well as publishers. Please beware of a man named Darnell Booker, the Author of a book entitled "Love is Painful Sometimes" exploiting homosexuality and focusing on the urban demographic. This man had come to me for a consultation for public relations on his book, without budget for press/media, nor any marketing on the project to begin with.  After an initial review of his pitch and one sheet prior to any dialogue, I offered for him to have a phone converstaion regarding the issues I saw with the press and branding, which attached to this report clearly show numerou issues in grammatical and spelling errors which concerned me for his brand.

I had also passed the pitch to a few colleagues that are nationwide that are in fact openly gay, married to African Americans, or other minorities for their opinion so that I could give Mr. Booker a frank, unbiased opinion on the concept of his book and the best route for him to follow for Public Relations as well as branding.

When this was explained to Mr. Booker, not only did he attack me verbally, and in written form, he proceeded to attack my character, stating that I can not do my job, and that he could buy me ten times over and then fire me. Despite the fact that I explained to him that publicists work on a contract of 6-12 months (although I do 3 month contracts in order to reevaluate a client's needs every quarter) he then in a pompous fashion said that no "agent" would ever do that with him, because he pays month to month.

After more than two hours of insults to my character, assaulting my practices and myself personally, I had to block this man's number and he finally confirmed and acknowledged in his own words that he actually was in fact broke and simply could not afford to hire representation.

After discussing this situation with fellow colleagues in numerous professional forums that I belong to on LinkedIn and PR platforms on an international level without dislosing Mr. Booker's name, I was interested in finding out what my colleagues would have done in this scenario. Every single person agreed that he was abusive, manipulative and looking to bully a publicist into getting free marketing and press and to RUN. I was grateful that my gut instinct to block him was right and I wish to advise others in the media industry to be aware of this man's manipulative practice and abusive behavior which is callous and unprofessional in order to get a quick book by selling a book that is not only disrespectful to the urban community but the LGBT community as well.

I am writing this rebuttal on behalf of my client Dannell Booker in regards to the poor, slanderous P.R. agent Heather N West.

First off Mr. Booker never hired Miss Levy as a P.R. agent he simply inquired about her services to see if they matched his needs as well as budget for his project. Mr Booker and Miss Levy and communicated through text and email where Miss Levy expressed interest in speaking with my client further in regards to his project. Mr Booker forwarded a P.R. campaign from another Press Agent that had written up a one sheet on his project to send out to media. Miss Levy found a grammatical error with the press release which has since been corrected which was I believe (dinner, diner) or something to that degree. The P.R. agent that missed this spelling correction apologized profusely and Mr. Booker held no grudges did not request his money back from her or go on a tirant of any kind trying to slander her name as he understood mistakes happen and that a small grammar error does not take away from the overall amazing story he had written.

Miss Levy however then went on to explain how she had shown his press release and book cover to a few gay male friends of hers who she said told her that they believed Mr. Booker was gay and that they did not like the way it seemed he made gay men come across in his book. (This is all without reading Mr. Bookers book without discovering the positive gay male characters in the book or the reasoning behind his writing of the book) Of course Mr. Booker found it curious to say the least that gay men would then feel the need to defame him by calling him gay as opposed to attacking the actual content of the book. However this is understandable seeing as they never took the time to read the book themselves. And as Mr. Booker explained to Heather N Levy - He writes his books for women they have strong women characters with intelligent minds and Gay men that have actually read the book love the books for that reason as well as the gay characters that are also highly intelligent and strong as well.

In the end Miss Levy began to curse on the phone at Mr. Booker who simply was having an educated discussion with her expressing to her that just because he was not gay and that she felt that gay men where the gate keepers in the entertainment industry doesn't mean he shouldnt be able to write a book that has gay characters that they may not like.

Miss Heather N West Levy also pointed out that she was the gate keeper to Black people in New York for P.R. and was known in every hood.

Dannell simply pointed out that she was not known in any hood he had ever been to.

(These points that Dannell made Heather N Levy had no cross arguments to.)

Finally Mr. Booker decided that Heather N Levy was not the correct P.R. agent to work with due to her emotional reactions, selfish reactions as well as feeling she needed to be placed above the client as shown in her slanderous internet tactic of defacing the name of a non client that she happen to not agree with.

Why would a P.R. agent who was never in a contractual agreement and only spoke with a potential client one time slander his name on a website for people who had been ripped off via bad business practices when they had no business together?

Who would trust a P.R. agent that could not keep their personal conversations between the two after things do not go as she pleases when money is involved if she cannot keep the conversations confidential when no money is involved?

Why would Heather N West give a consultation to a author who has no budget? Isn't it the purpose of a P.R. agent to be paid for their work? Every other P.R. agent before and after her had been paid by Mr. Booker so why would she make

What P.R. agent says that your project is too taboo and different for me to represent because nobody has written anything like that with that angle?
