Complaint Review: Darel Long

 As a single mother of 3, I was looking to sell my home quickly and for a fraction of what it's really worth (just get rid of it!). I found a yellow sign on the side of the road "We buy houses. Fast Easy Cash Contact Darel 5402069257" . So I called. I spoke to Darel, set up a meeting, and got excited b/c I could really use this money. Darel and I met at the house (was being rented for $500/month by faithful, ideal, "perfect" tenants). He explained to us they would need to move if I agreed to sell the home to him or they could buy it for what he paid plus $5000. If not, closing would be 5 days after they were out. By the time I got home(15 mins) from this meeting I had a message on my answering machine from him saying how much he enjoyed meeting me and hes looking forward to getting to know me, and he thinks we'll make a great team, etc.. I thought this might be a little strange behavior for a real estate deal. But then again, I've never sold a house before so I didn't give it another thought. That is until, he found out I had a boyfriend! Let me just say, it's been 37 months, we've had 2 "closing" appointments(of which he didn't show), several hundred text messages, 1 court date (of which he didn't show), and 2 more contracts(that he wrote) since they vacated the property.
