The company advertised a job posting on Craig's List. I have included an abstract:

Real Estate Investor Looking for Savvy Candidate (NY, NJ, CT, PA, LI)

We are a group of savvy and experienced real estate investors. We have been in business for almost a decade and have had the foresight to always stay ahead of the curve.
We dont worry about bills. We are not drowning in debt. Downsizing is not an option for us. We do not have to answer to anyone other than our own conscience and have been extremely successful in a very responsible manner over the last few years. In one word we have what most dream of FREEDOM and CHOICE.
Do you want the same?
We are very selective of who we take into our company but are rapidly expanding in the Northeast.
So many people out there know the opportunity that is in the market but have never found the right people to work with. Well that has come to an end.
We are proficient in over 25 different strategies. That means that we are ALWAYS making money, no matter what market we are in.
REQUIREMENTS:
- You must have a serious passion for real estate.
- You must be coachable.
- You must understand the meaning of commitment.
- You must be independent and have a business owner mentality.
- You must be able to come into company at a minimum of a P/T basis (5-7 hours/week).

I submitted my resume for a part-time job and was contacted by Jennifer Weinberg and was scheduled for a forum at 135 West 52nd Street.

Once there I (with other applicants) were given a two hour presentation on how I could make money handling short-sales and foreclosures, by Darius Askaripour. But during the whole presentation, Darius never tells us the full name of the company or where it in incorporated.  All we are told is that this is the best time to be in the real estate business and there is a large 'network / community'  that company works with in making multi-million dollar deals across the country. Mr. Askaripour encourages the attendees to research the information that he is giving us  to verify and fact check. The only problem is that  the only information out there is Mr. Askaripour's information on different websites (YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn). There is no independent source.

After two hours the switch comes in, you are told before you can start making money hand over fists you must attend a $957.00 conference  on how their system works. But if you act now the cost will only be $457.00!

We were never told ( in the job posting) that we would have to attend a training class with out of our pockets costs.

Great Reputation

#7REBUTTAL Owner of company

Wed, February 10, 2010

Normally I would never even spend any time to respond to such a ludicrous claim but I feel as though I must make a statement since this website does not remove any false claims, even after the author acknowledges that they are incorrect and I have never had a negative comment posted about me on the internet.

I have prided myself on a great reputation in the community and within the real estate sector at large for over a decade now.

I have countless positive comments regarding my businesses and the many students I have had over the years, not to mention employees, associates, and professionals I have had the liberty and honor of doing business with.

The gentleman that posted the comment was sadly mistaken and I am sorry that he felt misled (though I NEVER had any discussion with him) and I never invited him to the seminar I was contracted to speak at. My job is to show up and speak about real estate and show the value in the products being offered, in the form of a seminar.

I own numerous companies, am an avid real estate investor, entrepreneur, coach, community leader, philanthropist, and also a public speaker.

One of the companies I speak for is in the real estate education business and I will spare their name in this report as I know how important a good reputation truly is.

Sadly the gentleman that wrote this post never looked at the Powerpoint presentation where the company name was on EVERY SINGLE SLIDE in MASSIVE letters (12x18 inches)! Not to mention that I said the company name over a dozen times throughout the presentation.

As for the "information" I told him to research, it was in regards to statistics regarding current foreclosure rates, expected real estate trends, and facts about the existing economy and world of banking. It's weird that no one else was confused about this (why would I tell people to look me up?).

The funny thing is that I researched the individual that posted this report and found that he was nothing more than a petty thief. Here is his info, though he will make claimes that it was "backlash" I had no knowledge of anything about him other than his name and phone number:

Buyachi Ndengu (that's his actual name)
Cell: 973-668-6440

As anyone can see after researching me on the internet I have never had a complaint or negative comment posted about me with the exception of this one angry individual who was under some unforeseen impression that someone would actually hire him when he ATTENDED A REAL ESTATE SEMINAR.

The other fact of the situation is that the woman (whose name I will not post to respect her identity) is a respectable member of the real estate community and the "ad" he posted was just a snippet of the entire posting and after FACT CHECKING with her, she never promised or offered the gentleman any form of employment.

It is true that anyone looking to become a real estate investor might actually have to invest sometime in their career and education is not free nor are jobs offered at seminars.

I ask that anyone who is researching me look at the facts that are all over the internet (over 17 pages of positive comments and testimonials) and not the opinion of  a person who makes outlandish false claims due to the fact that he is unemployed and angry at the world.

It is a fact of life that people must work hard for what they have, and things are not just given away as success is something earned and not a privileged and a good reputation is priceless.

I honestly wish the gentleman the best of luck in his search for success and hope he finds nothing but prosperity and good fortune.

READ BEFORE YOU PROCEED.

This guy OBVIOUSLY has issues understanding what he reads. Anyone with simple second grader comprehension can look right at the ad that he reposted for example purposes, and see that NOWHERE in there does it ever say "come apply for a JOB". People really need to start at the core of THEIR own problems before they start trying to tarnish other successful individuals images on such sites as these. You submitted a resume for a part-time job to people who never offered a part-time job. Being able to work part-time hours and working a part-time job are two different things my friend - understand what you read.

Have great life and may the Lord be with you all.

Honest Business Owner

I've been involved in Darius's business for about a year now and he has always been honest and giving individual. He never has forces anyone to buy anything or do anything. Darius actually gives great information at his meetings about his real etate business. One can walk out of his presentations with workable knowledge. He offers a very reputable product for people to learn the Real Estate Business,it is up to the individual to chose if it is for them or not. There are many  levels of involvement each costing different amounts and one can decide what is affordable to their situation. Darius has always been a great mentor offering informaton and his experience to all who are involved in his business. This person sounds like he wants a free ride and has no money to spend on improving his future. He should stick to 9 to 5 jobs and erase the word entrepreneur from his vocabulary as he will never be one when he bashes real entrepeneurs and business owners.

Went to a Forum and Bought!

I answered the same ad and went to a forum.  I found that everything in the ad and what I was told on the phone to be valid and true.

I learned a great deal about short sales, foreclosures, REO's, fix and flip, wholesaling and much more.  I was so impressed with the presentation and the content that I bought the 3 day $597 educational opportunity and was blown away by the information I received.

It was quite obvious from my initial phone call that this was not a typical job opportunity but a chance for financial freedom and an escape from the everyday routine of working for someone else.  The ad DOES say looking for independent business owners.  This means you must be an ENTREPRENEUR!!!

It seems as though this person is just miserable in his own life and had no money to spend, so instead of owning up to the mistakes he has made he decided to attack people who are in control of their lives.

These people have changed my direction and all for the better!

Very Informative Seminar

I have attended one of these seminars, and found the information there to be very helpful and informative. Before the seminar I had little knowledge of how Foreclosures worked. I found the presentation to be very knowledgeable and the services to be very helpful.

I don't know what this person is talking about.  Darius would never imply any untrue fact.  He is a great person and an amazing mentor.  I have nothing but respect and admoration for him.  It is also sad to see the Jennifer was dragged into this.  She is a sweatheart with a heart of gold.  Anyone that would negitivley talk about these two people clearly has some sort of personal issues.
