This is in regard to DAS order number 2900226 and claim number 550614. the agent was mr larry newberry. My honda civic 1998 model was shipped from albama to san diego california in may/jun 2006.On the predelivery inspection sheet there was a note that the passenger side mirror was lose.

upon delivery the said mirror was bound by black electrical tape to keep it from falling and it had scratches behind it.Having purchased insurance fro DAS for over $150 dollars I immediately called them. They sent a valuer (miss elizabeth)to come and take pictures she agreed the damage was beyound what was stated on the preshipping inspection.

After their investigations DAS Mr Larry Newberry sends me an email saying that they (DAS)will not pay to fix the mirror as they are not responsible for the damage to the mirror even though the mirror was held by the tapes.he said and I quote "there is no documented evidence of DAS putting black tape on your car and such will not settle".

I wish to file this complaint because if this is allowed to go on then they can get away with any form of damage as long as they are not caught in the act of damaging or trying to cover up a damage. It becomes an intergrity issue . the only phone number to das i have for Mr newberry is 18663278060 ext 5129.

When the car was picked up originally, it had a bill of lading, which documented any damage to the car. When it arrived, you should've gotten a copy of the paperwork.

If there was any damage not noted on the BOL, then they are responsible. Turn it in to your insurance company - they will fix your car and go after Dependable Auto Shippers for payment.
