DataNumen, Inc. Refused refund for product which did not work Internet
DataNumen of Hong Kong produces a software product called AOR (Advanced Outlook Repair).
This product purports to repair Microsoft Outlook database problems. The product seemed to have an unusually high purchase price of $249.00 compared to other products on the market.
After researching as much as I could and receiving a statement "Yes, our product will have more successful rate and recover more data than any other products in the world.", I purchased the product.
I executed the product.
> I renamed the Outlook.pst file to Old.pst.
> I renamed the Outlook-fixed file to Outlook.pst.
> I opened this file with Outlook.
> I had hundreds of folders and thousands of files in Outlook. It seems that the files may have been recovered, however, I now have hundreds of folders with names such as Recovered_Folder495. This could take hours or days to research, My calendar events are gone completely, and so are my contacts.
> This recovery seems totally unacceptable to me.
I then began a running dialog with the company's technical support, Chen Chonwei.
After 32 emails, numerous attempts at repair, and, at least 12 different requests for a refund, I have received no acceptable response.
While I am fairly certain that the product does work for many users, it did not work for me. I felt justified is requesting a refund.
I believe the company is now using delaying and smokescreen tactics in an effort to avoid a refund.
My advice is to avoid this company's products unless you are absolutely certain that you will not be in need of $249.00.
