dataretrieval.com Hard drive repair ripoff.. data retrieval scam washington, District of Columbia
I contacted the company to retrieve data from a corrupted hard drive. The requested a 100 dollar fee to look at the drive and prepare a quote. I received a quote of 1700.00 to retrieve data which I decided against so I requested my hard drive back but I never received it. The company stopped responding once I decided not to go with their services so I was forced to contact my credit card company to dispute the charge and I also had to file a claim against the company in small claims court in the District of Columbia.

I'm the IT manager for a company here in silicon valley - From my experience, I have learnt the importance of good account managers. First, I sent a drive to data retrieval and I got somebody called David as my account manager, he was utterly useless, and made my experience a hell - that's when I decided not to go to this company again.
Since they are the best in the industry, I contacted them again with my fingers crossed, and this time, I got Kevin Smith and he was awesomely good - He kept me updated regularly via emails - and I was never required to call up the toll free#.
Also, my Friend wanted to recover some doc files from his hard drive, but he didn't have much money - I gave Kevin's ext (ext is 317 I think) and asked him to call him up directly. My friend called up and explained the situation and Kevin went out of his way to give a huge discount to him.
If I/my company needs any recovery (which I hope does not happen), I will make sure I call him up directly rather than calling up the toll free number.
Anyone who needs recovery, I would suggest you call Kevin - I'm sure he will help you out.
I give five stars to this company (more to Kevin)
