Complaint Review: Daughter of D4 Ranch

We boarded our horse at this ranch, the ranch is split in 2, on the north side there are mexicans and all there boarders, on the south side there is Daughter of D4.

Let me just start off by saying Norene Herrington (owner south side of property) comes off as a nice well balanced individual but she is not at all, she will tell you she will barder with you on your board for your horse in exchange for work, you do the work, she claims you still owe her money. She is very 2 faced and will be the first one to try and get in your personal business to talk about you behind your back to others at the ranch.

Norene has this ranch listed at a "horse santuary" but in honesty she has to many horses on the property that she did not save, she collected, horses come in looking great and within months drop so much weight they need to be saved from her. She does not feed on a regular schedule (if she feeds at all) almost always you can find the horses without water.

The ranch is falling apart, roofs on barns are coming up and not being fixed, the electrical is old and will start on fire anyday now, she has electric fences running all over the property, and uses them to hold the horses in so the pastures can grow, so for a week or more your horse (if allowed outside) will be standing in mud and have no grass to graze on, its an accident waiting to happen.

She says its a 7 day a week stall cleaning if you pay full board, horses fed twice daily and are supplied turn out, this again is false, she never has a regular income of feed, there are days horses will go without for 2-3 days, her full pay boarders have to clean thier own stalls, she has had many boarders leave due to the lack of care for thier horses. Her stalls are cleaned maybe every 3 months and its done by whomever she can find to do them for free. And if she doesnt like your horse it stays locked in a stall. NO TURNOUT!

When we finally decided to pull our horse from here, her "santuary" horses and her one boarder she had left had not eaten hay in 3 days, and still NO WATER! She hoards animals and does not have the income for the care they need. I cant say enough bad things about this place, if you do decide to board here put your horse on the north side of the farm with the mexicans they treat their horses like royalty over there. DO NOT BOARD WITH NORENE!
