I went into Dave Automotive with a van. I had a grant from the state to pay for my repairs. When i got my car back it was overheating i waited outside of their shop for a mechanic to return and they refused to help me. I begged them to just look at it and they refused but they sure did collect the money from the state.

This customer came in under the Consumer Assistance Program. This is a program for income eligible people to have smog related repairs done which are paid for by the state. With a few simple adjustments to the van it passed smog. Noted on the invoice was that there was a coolant leak coming from the freeze plugs on the motor. The CAP program does not cover any repairs other than those by which are emission related. The customer came back complaining of cooling system problems that were completely unrelated to any repairs we made to her vehicle. When we explained that these repairs were not covered by the state and that we would not repair them free of charge the customer became upset. She left disgruntled about it after we informed her that she had the right to file a complaint to the Bureau of Automotive Repair with the phone number. Result's of the investigation are pending.
