Complaint Review: David Alan Shepherd Starfire Enterprises

I am writing this Ripoff Report to share my experience with dealing with this person by the name of David Alan Shepherd in hopes that no one will ever do business with this man ever again. 

David Alan Shepherd posted an ad seeking large loans on an online website. I answered the ad and he explained the project to me and what I would receive in return for loaning the money. It was a project that would be performed in 4 phases and I had the option to keep my money into the next phase and make a return each time. The amount I loaned David Alan Shepherd was $25,000. This was to be used to purchase materials for the project. Nothing was ever purchased and he never provided me with the documentation to prove the project even existed as I requested from the beginning. 

Come to find out, he was soliciting loans using a contractor's license that had been expired for many years. 

Months had passed and I constantly had to reach out to him to get an update and find out when I would be getting paid. He never once voluntarily contacted me to give me an update. After a while, I started growing more concerned because of all the excuses he would make. After even more months had passed, I knew something was wrong. I started to really demand my money and he would make promise after promise, all which turned out to be lie after lie, after lie, after lie. What he did was mental abuse and disgusting. 

During this time, I managed to do some research online and I was able to come across another man who had answered the same type of ad and loaned David Alan Shepherd about the same amount of money I did. We had kept in contact and compared notes about our experiences. A year and two months after I loaned David this money, the other man and I took a trip to David's house to demand he pays us or arrange payment with us. This is when we discovered that he had been lying not just to us, but to his family too.

There had been many occasions where we tried to reach out to his wife, Holly Shepherd, and she would not even listen to what we had to say. I feel that she knows what is going on and is turning a blind eye to it because she has probably been benefitting from the money we loaned David. 

We told Holly Shepherd directly that we had loaned David money that was to be paid back and she believed we were clients of his who were dissatisfied with the materials, which is the story I believe David must have told her. We repeatedly told her we loaned David the money and we WERE NOT unhappy clients of his, but she wouldn't hear us out of believe us. 

This whole situation has really turned my life upside down. It has caused me a tremendous amount of stress and mental anguish, not to mention all I have lost through this. These people are ruthless. I don't want this to happen to anyone else. It digusts me that people like this can just go on with life as if they have done nothing wrong and posting pictures of all the fun they're having spending money taken from other people. It's sickening.
