David Bruce Gibbons, owed $14000 in back child support for his two children Catherine and Christopher Gibbons. My job transferred me out of state and in order for me to leave I had to sign a statement saying he paid me directly so he would sign the necessary papers to amend our divorce decree. He told the kids that he would move to the same state we were moving to (texas) but instead he left fort wayne indiana and moved with a girlfriend to michigan. the state of texas tracked him to michigan and we received $30, $45, $75, $280, & $280 before he quit his job (AGAIN) I googled him and found his address and phone number and sent papers asking him to relinquish his parental rights...and of course he refuses. I would like to take the kids to cancun for summer holida;y but I have to have his signature on the passport information to leave the country. future girlfriends/wives beware...he likes to say i ran off with his children, but I (and the state of indiana) have his signature acknowledging the move and amendment to our divorce decree. I also have certified letters showing i keep in contact the best i can, but when he changes his phone number and moves it makes it difficult. he also has a warrant for his arrest in indiana for failure to appear regarding non-payment of child support. if you see davied gibbons (aka dave, gibby) tell him to step up to the plate and be a real man and support his children.

I am the catherine gibbons mentioned in this report. Everything stated in this story is completely accurate. I am just trying to find him to tell him he should sign away all unused never touched GI Bill. I already refer to you as sperm donor. I thank you for making me, but if you want to help your kids sign away the stuff that you're entitled to and never used. Bye.

While I can't help with the child support issue I can clue you in on the Mexico/passport situation. I have two children with my ex and took them to Puerto Vallarta this past January. They did not have passports (you don't have to have one to enter Mexico). What you do is get a certified copy of their birth certificates and they can enter/exit the country with a birth certificate and photo id. My daughter who was 16 at the time used her birth certificate and her license, my son who is 14 used his birth certificate and a school id. However, since he was under 16 they never even asked to see his school id. I did bring along a signed notarized letter from my ex stating the kids had permission to enter the country with me but no one ever asked to see any documentation from him. I also entered/exited Mexico with only my birth certificate and drivers license. Didn't have one bit of trouble. AND, my last name differs from my kiddos so I thought that might be an issue but it wasn't. Good luck to you and have a great trip!!
