Sorry about that, but you have been scammed big time. The man doesn't exist. The Ebay email you received for 'Buyers Protection' is a fraud email. Ebay will NEVER TELL YOU TO WESTERN UNION funds!!! The guy that has your money was probably from Nigeria somewhere.
If you had told Western Union it was an Ebay transaction, they probably would have had told you NOT to do it. You should NEVER pay for anything with Western Union, unless it's a friend or relative. Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do about it.
This is the biggest scam going on right now in Ebay.
