Apparently this company (individual) is out of business. After trying to reach him for two weeks regarding a home building job I have given up. The last email I recieved indicated that everything was fine, he'd be in touch soon. This was after he took my $1500 to design a house for me. Thankfully, I didn't send him any more money.

If this guy resurfaces in Trinidad, or anywhere in Colorado for that matter, steer clear. Find somebody else to build your house.

I began conversing with Mr. Gavers in March or April of 2011. He said He was going to build a cabin, but did not have an exact start date. I explained to Him that He was starting the process at a good time as winters at over 8500' can be brutal in the Colorado Rockies. He agreed and said He wanted to start in the Spring of 2011. I contracted with Him to design & draw blueprints for His Home. I did exactly that. Mr. Gavers has a full set of plans that anyone could work from and that permits could be obtained from with the exception of an engineered foundation plan. The engineering was not included and states so in the proposal that He signed. I did send Mr. Gavers a separate proposal to build His cabin again stating in the proposal that engineering was not included, however He never signed this, gave a down payment or sent any money for engineering. In fact He was still making changes as late as September 2011, making this a Fall or Winter start & build project. I quit hearing from Him in late September and haven't heard from Him since. I just figured He either decided to wait until the following Spring, wasn't going to build or had hired another contractor as He had a full set of working blueprints to shop price with. I am not a hard sell Contractor and did not hound Him, as I feel the building process should be a comfortable pleasant experience for all involved. I fulfilled everything I was contracted to do and paid for. In fact I made several changes to the plans at no charge. I have all documents, (original signed proposals and unsigned proposals) including signed blueprints from Him approving our design & drawings. Mr. Gavers just never took the next step of signing the separate proposal to build and putting money down to do so. I was willing and still am, to help Mr. Gavers with His project. Sincerely, Davidh Construction
