I came across an online car auction on eBay of a vehicle that I had been seeking to purchase for some time. The car as described on the listing seemed to match the specifications that I was seeking. I read over the listing carefully and did some research online to review any complaints or negative feedback about the seller Jerry McKinney Motor Company before I expressed any serious interest. I proceeded to call the seller, David Russel from Jerry McKinney Motor Company and discussed the vehicle with him. He described it in the same way that he included in the posting - basically excellent condition with only a few bug marks on the from hood. Everything else he said was in excellent condition - like new. Here is an exert of what he included in the description to give you an idea: "Although you won't be the first owner, you will never know that from this vehicle's condition it has been taken care of just as a luxury vehicle should be. The mileage represented on this vehicle is accurate. There are no signs or smells that this vehicle was ever smoked in. This vehicle is in superb cosmetic condition. Bid with confidence - no body damage present on this beauty. This vehicle has been pampered and saved from any door dings or scratches. To look this good, it is obvious that this beauty has been garaged." Based on my conversation with David Russel, I gave the vehicle further serious consideration and after a few days sitting on the idea, I placed my bid to win the auction. At first David Russel was very polite and prompt during the sales process. He was cooperative and agreed to drop of the vehicle at my preferred shipping company.

The problems started when I received the vehicle and noticed that was sent to me and what was sold to me were in very different conditions. What was advertised as a car in superb condition - was in fact very far from that. The vehicles exterior was full of scratches and deep gouges. I can only conclude that David Russell of McKinney Motors intentionally neglected to mention all the scratches and dings on the fenders, doors, and rear bumper etc just to sell the car. These scratches were noted on the pre-shipping inspection sheet at the shippers location. As such, these items were present at the time of sale when the vehicle was in the sellers possession. In addition, the add states and David Russel of McKinney Motors informed me that this was a non-smoking car - however is this not the case. The car is full of a smoke. I am allergic to cigarette smoke. I could only drive the vehicle with all windows open. The interior leather driver and rear driver seat have excessive wear and tear that David Russell of McKinney Motors failed to mention although I specifically asked the condition of such items. The front passenger door trim is broken. Every time you shut the door, everything in it rattles. The interior wood trim is cracked in multiple places. Too expensive to replace. He charged me extra to replace the sunroof control module yet although he claims he replaced it, the sunroof shade now does not open. I just spent over $1100 replacing dead batteries and identifying all the other errors in the car include brake failure, running gear failure, blown speakers, and the list goes on and on.

All in all, this was a terrible experience. I would highly suggest, that if you even entertain the idea of purchasing a vehicle from David Russel & Jerry McKinney Motors from Forth Worth Texas, go down in person and check out the vehicle in person. I can assure you will not get what you pay for otherwise. Better yet, take your money elsewhere and purchase from a reputable and honest seller whom you have references from. Spend your hard earned money wisely.

I can not comprehend why you David Russell of Jerry McKinney Motor Company was not honest regarding the true condition of the car when advertising it for sale. He confirms the stereotypical connotations of a Used Car Salesman.

Why would you ever buy a used car unseen?

Even when you buy a used car AFTER you have inspected it, and even had a mechanic inspect it for you, you are taking a chance because the former owner got rid of it for a reason. Maybe for several reasons.

eBay is not as buyer-friendly as it was 4 years ago. Back then you could look up old auctions to determine market prices and/or to evaluate the real worth of a seller's rating- had they sold items similar to what you were considering and been highly rated for their performance, or had they been selling nickel & dime items to generate a high rating. Now the closed auctions go offline when they are 2 months old.

Next time look [very carefully] before you pay.
