Marilyn Warren, MI I bought my daughter a dance for Warren Mott HS Snowcoming. It was $168, after alterations $$235. I took dress back before dance because dress was tight and beading falling off. Seamstress told me that my daughter probably was on her period and the dress got tight. Not so. She starved for 3 days to fit in the dress. The seamstress did sew on the beads I took in that fell off and glued the string inside the dress. On the night of the dance, the beading was falling off in many different areas. My daughter was so upset and embarrassed that she left the dance early.
I took the dress back to David's Sunday morning (the day after the dance) The manager, Jenna, was very cold and said that I will not get a refund. I asked for the dress to be fixed and to get something off the purchase price. She stated that she was not paid to make that decision, again very cold to the situation, but she kept the dress and said it would be repaired and that she would speak to someone regarding the problem and the possibility of getting something off the dress. David's was much nicer when they took my money.

Teens only wear dresses once and it is a shame that the dress fell apart on the night of the dance and it will get repaired so I can take it to a resale shop. I don't spend this kind of money all the time. My daughter has been going through some tuff times and I thought I would treat her to a special dress. I really couldn't afford this dress, but it was beautiful on her and I wanted her to be happy.

Not only did she have to starve to fit into the dress (she is only 14) after David's did the alterations, but the dress fell apart at the dance.

David's Bridal if a ripoff!!!!!!!!

first of all, you paid a total of $235 for a 14 year old's dance? wow...pretty pathetic if you ask me. you are probably a typical, snotty mother who is using her daughter to prove to all of the other mothers in your school district how much better you are than them. way to try and buy your daughter's love. maybe if you went to a store that is designed to sell to girls her age, for just such an occasion, their return policy would have more fit your needs.

second, you KNEW that your FOURTEEN year old was starving herself to fit in her dress?? not only is that dangerous and unhealthy, but sends your daughter the message that it is acceptable to do such a thing. way to give your daughter terrible body image at such a young age. it is no wonder that there is an epidemic of eating disorders. it is because of selfish, disgusting mothers like you.

THE ALTERATIONS PEOPLE SHOULD HAVE WORKED THAT DRESS OVER SO THAT IT WOULD HAVE FITTED HER.

THAT IS WHAT THEY ARE GETTING PAID FOR AND THEY SHOULD HAVE DONE THEIR JOB SO I THINK YOU ARE DUE A REFUND FROM THEM SINCE THE DRESS OBVIOUSLY DID NOT FIT.

THE BEADING APPARENTLY WAS NOT DONE TOO WELL AND STARTED FALLING OFF IN THE STORE. THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN A WARNING TO ME THAT MAYBE WE NEED TO CHECK OUT ANOTHER DRESS SINCE THIS IS SO FLIMSY MADE THAT IT WON'T HOLD UP OUT OF THE STORE EITHER!

WHEN YOU ARE SPENDING BIG MONEY ON A DRESS OR ON ANY KIND OF CLOTHING, THE STORE SHOULD MAKE SURE THEY ARE SELLING QUALITY MERCHANDISE AND YOU SHOULD BE SURE THAT EVERYTHING ON THE DRESS WORKS!

SOUNDS LIKE TO ME SOME GREEDY SALESPERSON PURPOSIVELY SOLD YOU A DRESS THAT WAS WAY TOO SMALL...

YOU ARE NOT ONLY DUE A REFUND BUT AN APOLOGY AS WELL!

JUST OUT OF CURIOSITY, WHY SHOP FOR A PROM DRESS IN A BRIDAL STORE?

I THINK YOU WOULD HAVE HAD BETTER LUCK IN A VINTAGE STORE IN ANOTHER TOWN OR AN UPSCALE RETAIL...

FASHION IS NOT ALWAYS KIND TO LADIES WHO ARE NOT A SIZE ZERO ANYWAY.
STARVING IS BAD FOR YOUR DAUGHTER'S HEALTH AND SELF-IMAGE TOO.

MY FAMILY IS OF HISPANIC AND NATIVE AMERICAN HERITAGE AND WE ARE NOT THE TINIEST OF PEOPLE. WE THINK THAT THE DOMINANT CULTURE'S VIEW OF TINY, ANOREXIC LITTLE WOMEN AS THE STANDARD OF BEAUTY IS RIDICULOUS AND AS SUCH IT DOES NOT APPLY TO US. WE HAVE OUR OWN VALUES AND OUR OWN PRIDE!

PARTICIPATING IN SUCH EVENTS THAT REQUIRE US TO SPEND MONEY WE DON'T HAVE, TRYING TO LOOK LIKE PEOPLE WE WILL NEVER RESEMBLE AND CONFORM TO STANDARDS THAT ARE NOT WHO WE ARE OR EVER WILL BE IS THE SUPREME RIP OFF!

THERE ARE CATALOGS THAT SELL NICE CLOTHES TO LARGER LADIES FOR A VERY REASONABLE PRICE. THAT IS WHERE MANY OF MY AUNTS AND COUSINS BUY THEIR WARDROBE ITEMS. SMART RETAILERS CARRY LARGER SIZES IN THEIR STORES...
