Davis Landscape & Design, Inc.of Athens, Georgia, owned by Brent Davis, doesn't stand behind their work!  Their website is www.davislandscapeinc.com and they have a Facebook page here, too.

A couple years ago he installed a very expensive privacy fence and a pergola over my back patio.  When Brent designed and installed both the fence and the pergola, he was clear that the lifespan of both should be about twenty years.Less than three years later, the fence is now leaning in two sections because the footing wasnt installed properly.  I noticed the fence leaning, and realized the pole was installed directly over and into the French drain that he also installed.  Clearly that wasn't the proper place for installing a fence pole; common sense tells me that. Another landscaper confirmed this error.  The gate also wont open because the hinges were too weak for the weight and span of the gate.  He mentioned this may become a problem during the installation, but he offered to fix it should that happen.  I was asked to contact him if there was a problem so that he could install an additional hinge for support.

The pergola is falling apart piece by piece.  The cause of this catastrophy is because he used nails instead of wood screws and failed to use support brackets on the structure. I had a carpenter from my  church examine the pergola, and he was shocked and amazed that the installation didnt use wood screws or support brackets.  The problems experienced were a direct result of this omission. In his opinion, the work was substandard and that was the cause for it literally falling apart.

When I asked Brent Davis for help, he initially said that these things happen after a few years.  I reminded him that he assured me the projects had a lifetime of twenty years, and he offered excuses and to fix these problems I'd have to pay a substantial amount of additional money.  I feel completely taken advantage of by Bent Davis on what added up to be nearly $3800 in projects!

Had Brent stood by his promises and work -- installing that other hinge, straightening the fence posts, and repairing the the pergola -- I'd be recommended him because at the time he was a pleasure to work with on these projects.  The initial appearance was also outstanding.

I know now three years later that he cut corners and did substandard work, which is the cause of the problems now being experienced.  He touts a 100% customer satisfaction guarantee on the his website, but clearly he doesn't live up to that promise.
