Please, be careful of Davison. They claim to be an invention development company that will take your idea to market, but in actuallity, they are fast talkers that try to seperate people from their money.

I submitted a design idea to Davison, over the internet. A couple of days later I received a phone call from the, "Director of New Products". He told me that his team thought it was a great idea and that they would like to work with me to design and develop my idea. They sent me legal looking documents and some impressive looking literature on their company.

A week later we spoke again and he told me how their engineers were excited about getting started on my idea and they had been brainstorming on other uses for the product. He had metioned their $685.00 fee previously, but wasn't very pushy about it, until I asked him a very simple question. "Will I be getting a receipt from the accounting dept?" At first he told me that the accounting department didn't give receipts, and my copy of the documents could serve as a receipt for my payment. I told him that I have never done any type of "legitimate" business deal, and didn't get a reciept. He told me that he could hand write a receipt, if I wanted him to, and wanted to know when I was going to send the money.
At this point, I was convinced that something wasn't right, so I wanted to play with him a little. I told him that I was going to send a check, but I wanted to check with an attourney friend of mine to see what he thought. Then he got really helpful, and said that since they really wanted to get started on the project before the holidays, that I could fax my document in and he could take my credit card info over the phone. That way I would have to worry about going to the post office and paying the extra postage. I told him that it wasn't any trouble. He said ok, but leave me a voice mail as soon as you mail the check, so I can be looking for it.
