This company has a very high turn over rate. They seem great at first, short glance. They always have new staff at the Santa Monica location because they treat their staff horribly, and never plan to keep them for long either way. This is why desk staff is offered more than the average customer service pay per hour. Dorene sorbel is racist and also very verbally abusive to any attractive staff at dawn Barnes karate kids. She seems to prey on attractive desk staff such as the blonde manager, Barabara.

They fired a black female desk staff attendent without any warning right in front of other staff and families. This company doesn't seem to practice What they preach. I thought this was a company about family and doing what is right. They Just seem to be out for the profit. They do not care what family or employee they con in the process. They want to teach karate by making it fun like Disneyland but this is far from the greatest place on earth.

Also please note that They have just lost a class action suit for the way they handle employees and families. This company is such a joke. I feel very sorry for anyone stuck working there!

UNFAIR AND UNTRUE

#2UPDATE Employee

Tue, January 04, 2011

We apologize to the readers of this site that disgruntled ex-employees feel that it's appropriate to vent their personal issues in a public forum.

In this case, one look at the Karate Kids staff page (www.karatekids.net) will prove that we welcome people of all races and backgrounds into our schools. Second, the statement referring to a lawsuit is completely incorrect and misrepresented here. We are also surprised -- after being voted #1 by many trustworthy institutions, and having served thousands of happy families for over 20 years -- to be represented as anything less than dedicated to the enrichment and betterment of children.

Sorry, folks -- some people just want to watch the world burn.
