I would definitely have to say it is a good thing that breeders' (didn't say good breeders, or bad) that believes in what they are doing are setting up a club for themselves. However, you would think that the members would take great care in who they elect as leaders, particularly Dawn Sanford, whom is on the top of everyone's' sh*t list.

I don't know anything of Debbie Jensen except what I have heard. I have not had any bad experiences myself, to say. But I have not done business with this woman either. Karen Christensen, an admitted liar, on the other hand I have had experience with, which I don't care to go into. But I will suggest that you read a report she posted on Tinsel Town Shih Tzus. (Side not: It looks like you are still working with her, and others) If these women want to have a club, let them, it isn't hurting anyone.
BUT I will not stop posting the things that Dawn Sanford has or has not done.

She has lied, Stolen and lied about stealing from people. She has TWO judgments that are for more than $1500.00 each. You would think that a NEW organization, that cared about whom they names as leaders would not see this in a good light. And not want a bad light shinning on them because of whom they chose to work with. This just shows what kind of organization, club they are.

I have spoken to Karen since I filled this report and have recieved emails from Karen that show that she is no longer working with Dawn Sanford an was only staying in contact to get her payment, which she still hasn't recieved yet, and she sent the dog out last year. Everything that has happened to Dawn is her own fault. She does not have people sign contracts so she doesn't have to honor them. That is the trick.
I want everyone to know that Karen is not working with Dawn, and I was mistaken. Sorry.

Dawn has told her bestest friend, the only one that will stand by her, Karen Christensen of EAGLEGATE SHIH TZUS, that she is not sending papers to anyone. So to all that have considered pursuing this woman legally, I hope that you all go through with it. Please contact the AKC and The Missouri Attorney Generals office, Consumer protection division, you can download complaint forms and fax them in, if you are in a different state or if you are in the same state. She is using known show breeder's names to sell her dogs and cannot or will not deliver what she has promised. She has changed her contract and guarantee so many times, who knows what will be next. Just read it and see if you would sign it. Better yet read her bestest friends. You will see what you are dealing with.

I know firsthand that what this breeder is doing is against AKC policies. I am not a breeder, do not live in the state this is happening - but I, along with other customers of a certain shih-tzu breeder in Illinois (none of us even knowing the other unsatisfied buyers existed) got the breeder's AKC privilges suspenked for TEN YEARS! based on inproper record keeping.

No offence breeder, but it is obvious that your record keeping is for shih-t.

Would you like an unanounced visit from an AKC field agent?

Because that is what will happen if the AKC gets enough complaints about you.

Withholding papers is a big NO-NO! Now, whatever is going on between you crazy breeders in your town - The one who takes the high road, minds their own business- and I mean BUSINESS- and always tries to do what is right and best for their dogs and their customers WINS!

NOW LET'S END THIS SHIH-TING MATCH. Sorry the puns are so great, can't do this with many other Breeds, maybe bulldogs.

I am writing in regards to this report that has obviously gotten out of hand. I have not been asked to write this report, but after reading what was on there I felt so inclined to shed a different light on someone(Angela of Tinsel Town Shih Tzus) that has been drug through the mud for no reason. I have worked personally with Angela from Tinsel Town Shih Tzus and am not exactly sure what Dawn is trying to do here. I know that Angela sticks to her word and conforms to a signed contract. I also know that the claims that she makes about her treatment of her dogs is a lie. I know for a fact how Angela's dogs are treated and also know that it is nothing like what Dawn has said. When I was getting ready to breed with Angela's male Taz she told me to simply wipe a piece of toilet paper and look for swelling-not shove a Q-tip in "my poor little girl". Angela keeps her dogs very nice and presentable. She also wants only the best for them. She would never have any procedure or senseless thing done without a vet telling her that that is what was needed. She once came to my house when I needed to get my puppy to the vet because she cared about the dog (it wasn't even her dog). "Now knowing all this would you want to send your beloved baby puppy to this woman? Well, NOT me!"-a quote from Dawn. If you make up(emphasis on make up) enough false information I guess you could feel justified in not sending a puppy. Also, about Taz...you say he has too long of legs and such-"Angela wishes that her dog Taz was that good. He is too leggy and he is not that cute. I had told her that I did not want her to breed my puppy to him or that ugly Kasey dog since they were ugly and not of the same quality"...he is a beautiful dog and puts out awesome pups (you said so yourself in an email you sent me-when you saw my litter sired by Taz). I personally think that what the biggest problem here is, is that Dawn is blowing smoke to avoid the real issue-refunding people's money. If she puts a big enough smoke screen maybe people will feel sorry for her. Oh yes and the statement that tries to draw everyone in "She has gone as far as to call the Division of Family Services to try and get my chilren taken away from me by stating to them that I had a very unclean house and that my house had animal feces covering the floor 1 inch thick and that I did not care. I have OCD and I can not live like that. I am not going to say that I am a great house keeper but I do not live with animal feces or feces of any kind in my home". Well, it is not working for me. To accuse Angela for this is ludicrous and another bit of blowing smoke. I personally work with people with OCD and also know that they would never lose papers or not file them-it is a compulsion and things are either done early or right on time...never late. I also know that DCFS does not just show up on your doorstep because someone in Utah said so. Dawn, it looks like 2 people were brave enough to stand up to you and from what I understand there are more. So, instead of pointing fingers and trying to get out of something...be honest and forthright like you told me you are when you called me to "talk about the Angela problem" and return these people's money-you made a mistake and let it get way too out of hand.
As for Rachel, that is also too bad that you are caught up in this mess. I know what it is like to work hard, with kids, and sacrifice to get a dog.

Angela you do not have a puppy from me. You could not afford the puppy that is why you could not pay for the puppy outright. You had to talk me into a deal instead. You are not in the same boat with the others they got thier puppies and I am sending them the papers. They will then not have anything to complain about. You one the other hand would not sign or honor the contract and you have decided to be dishonest and mass email and slander and defame and liable me oh and how could I forget the lowest of the low things that a person could do calling the Division of Social Services to get my children taken from me.

I could not believe the statement that you made and I quote "If this is how done does business and this is the example her children have, maybe they are better off without her." this is being a very cold person and gives me proof that it is you that called in the lie. You are a cold, heartless,& money hungry woman Angela you know that you are lying and you know that you have been exagerating everything and yes I have questioned people since I knew that you would try and blame them since you never take the blame for anything. You always try and push it to someone or something else. Yes you do own Tashie and Taz but you do not own Kasey he belongs to your mother-in-law. And just because you own a dog does not give you the right to torcher it because you are bored and can't wait for nature to take its coarse. I am sure that you will lie about this also but really Angela you and I know the real truth don't we.

I know for a fact that you have written on this report under a false name several times and I have proof thru phone calls. You claimed on the report that Mokey was your dog and you did not register her till way after you filed the report and after you sold her and you sent me proof of this yourself. To this day you still have not paid for her and I have proof of this also. You also sold Mokey for $250 more than what you were to pay for her and still did not pay the lady for her. I believe that is a bit NO a big deal of dis honesty and lying done by you so I call that the teapot calling the kettle black! This is the only way that Angela can contact me because she can not contct me via email so she does it thru the Rip Off Report.

So here are a few things that I am going to address on the lies that Angela has said:

1. she insisted I send her money right away or there was no deal. The puppies were not even born yet.---- The puppy that she was to get was born but did not make size for breeding so she had to wait on another litter to be born. It was the first puppy in question that she sent the deposit for. Not the unborn puppy.

2. The reason, Karen doesn't want competition from my stud because we live in the same area and offer stud service from the same lines.---- This is not an issue at all Angela wishes that her dog Taz was that good. He is too leggy and he is not that cute. I had told her that I did not want her to breed my puppy to him or that ugly Kasey dog since they were ugly and not of the same quality.

3. Because of the report she and Karen constructed she had the perfect out of giving me a puppy. ----- I did not have anything to do with that report and that report had nothing to do with the puppy. If I needed a perfect out it was that Angela did not SIGN the contract and send it back in the alotted time frame.

4. I have contacted 4 other puppy buyers whom have sent Dawn money and have not received the AKC papers for the puppies or even a puppy at all.-----The people may not have thier papers but they will have them very soon and they all got thier puppies when I said without a problem.

5. Two of these dogs will never be registerable because Dawn never paid for them in full and will not pay the original owner because of a feud between them.-----This is a complete Lie since there is no feud and I do not have a dog that has not been paid in full to that person. Angela again is making this up. That person can say what they like but she is not owed anything from me. I have paid her for what I got from her and she knows that she was asked over 15 times for a written bill and she refused to send it to me so that makes what I owe her zero. I sold dogs for her and recieved commisions and she never sent me a final print out of that either. So I will not pay her anything until this is done. Because I do not know what is owed.

6. The original puppy I paid for is not registerable because its mother wasn't registered. To my knowledge I was paying for an AKC registerable puppy.----- The mother was registered by AKC and she is mine and she has an AKC number so yes her puppies can be registered.

7.I have been informed that the puppies from all litters that have not been registered will not be registered until I have retracted my statement, regarding these people not receiving their AKC registration papers. I retract my statement.---- I do not know where you are getting that I do not want a retraction from you I want a letter of satisfaction from the people who HAVE my puppies after they get papers.

I never said anything about Angela doing anything.
8. I sent her Tazz to use as a stud because she didn't have the papers Dawn promised her, for Dee's only male.----Dee has a male thats name is Cupid and he is on her website as her male. And Chandler just now this month turned 8mo and he may not even be furtile yet. He could not even have his litter registered till recently either. So Angela saying that Chandler was Dee's only male is a lie also.

9.Dawn co-owns Melody, Lilo, and Koda. She cannot get a litter registered from these dogs without the other co-owners signature. This other co-owner has yet to be contacted to sign the papers for these litters, either has the owner of the stud.----Both of these women have been contacted and the owner of the stud has agreed to sign from the begining. As for the other lady she has been contacted several times and she refuses to sign off for me and she continues to tell the others involved that I have not contacted her and that she will sign but she tells me different.

10. All of the puppies she owes back die mysteriously.----- I only owe one dog back and That puppy died of fading puppy and that is not a mystery. Now that person is getting a puppy from a litter I have now and that girl is very healthy.

11. I am sure she has done the same thing.---- As for buying and selling 6 dogs in one year no I have not done that I have only bought and sold one dog one time and that was because that dog only made 3 pounds at 6 months of age. Most people keep the dog till they are 6 months to a year but she sells hers before that so she has no proof of how they were going to turn out.

12. The truth is she has done so many wheeling and dealings with other breeders she isn't able to produce enough puppies to pay all the breeders back and keep money for herself to keep up her kennel.-----I do not do alot of wheeling and dealing I do not know what she is talking about here and why did she put kennel in quotes. I have a small kennel yes it is a four run building that has four big runs inside and out.

13. I paid Dawn money and she has refused to send me a dog, not because I called her and told her I cannot take care of it, or I cannot pay her back but because she is dishonest. This is theft.-----Angela could not pay for the dog that is why she had to do a deposit and a puppy back. Angela did not even pay for the puppy in full had she done that and signed the contract and sent it back in the alotted time frame this would not even had been an issue. Which I asked for her to do with the second puppy but again she whined about not being able to pay for the puppy in full so I made up a new contract for the second puppy so that I was safe and so was my puppy and that I got what I wanted back in quality match. But she refused to sign the contract and send it back in the alotted time frame and that is when she lost her deposit per the contract provisions upon non signature.

14. Luckily Linda learned not to do business with Dawn. Linda then baught a dog from a reputable breeder.----Linda and I still talk and she has not bought another female dog from another breeder. But, I am helping her to buy from a friend of mine.

What Dawn has asked these individuals to do is not blackmail, but holding their papers until they do is. If these people have not received their papers 8 months after the litter is born, and Dawn has given them excuse after excuse, they have every right not to post anything. Nor can Dawn hold the papers legally, as long as each person has email record and or front and back copies of checks, even a contract. They are not hers to hold, they are owed to these individuals. Anyone can contact me through my website Tinsel Town Shih Tzus. The AKC can do something about it. Dawn can be stripped of her AKC rights and privileges if enough voices and concerns are heard. Everyone is being accused of turning Dawn in for child neglect, or whatever. I am not sure of the true reason. The truth is, I paid Dawn money and she has refused to send me a dog, not because I called her and told her I cannot take care of it, or I cannot pay her back but because she is dishonest. This is theft. She can say I did not honor a contract, however legally, you cannot offer a contract 3 months after receiving a payment, that is not binding in any way. I have our original agreement in emails, I even emailed her back to make sure I understood what she was offering. The contract has to be offered at the same time as payment. Dawn can say what ever she wants to play down what she has done. I am in the same boat as everyone else, so it is my business. I gave her money and have not received what I paid for. At least others got the dog. I will not stop until I receive payment for what she owes me. I have told Dawn this. I am pursing her legally. It is just a matter of time. I am not the only one either. Dawn has written horrible lies and twisted the truth to benefit and to deflect what she has done. Anyone that knows me knows that I do not treat my animals remotely close to how she has described. If this is how done does business and this is the example her children have, maybe they are better off without her. But, yes, Rachel. The AKC can do something about it. I have talked to them as have others. Dawn has recently had dogs removed from her home by more than one breeder. So now the heat is turned up and Dawn has no one to blame, but continues to point fingers at everyone else.

If you would have read everything on that rip off report you would have read that I have all papers coming even yours. But after your rebuttle I may not now. AKC will not do anything about this they do not get involved with this type stuff. This has gotten out of control and with you people involving Angela when she has nothing to do with this issue at all. She is manipulating everyone and that is wrong. She refused to honor what her obligation was and that is why she did not get what she wanted. So when I get the papers here I am going to mail out photo copies to everyone and then when they go and file a report of satisfaction on the Rip Off Report they will get the originals.

I am not trying to destroy you or hurt your children. What in the world do your children have to do with this. I haven't even mentioned them, nor did I even know you had them. What you are doing does not make since. You cannot threaten people like this. You did not give me what I paid for over 8 months ago. Do you understand how frustrating it is. Would you like it if you went to the store and ordered an appliance and 8 months later it hadn't arrived and the people at the store never called to tell you what is going on and every time you call them they give you a new excuse as to why you haven't recieved it. You want me to try to understand your situation and be sympathetic to what you are going through, but you haven't tired to communicate with me at all on this. The only reason I'm talking to Angela is because at least she is talking. You won't even talk to me and I want something done here! I am a stay at home mother. I worked over 2 months cleaning houses, taking my baby along with me just to buy that dog. I needed the papers to breed him and it's 8 months later and I don't have them. I don't want them anymore. I'm tired of this round and round game you are playing. I want the refund that you said on the rebuttle form that you would be "happy" to give me. Dawn I have been a good customer to you. I communicated to you regularly. I sent payments quickly when you asked. I trusted you and gave you money upfront for something I didn't have in my hands yet. Please Dawn, if you are an honest breeder who looks out for your dogs and customers just make this right between us and there will be no more problems between us. I gave you 800 and that is a huge amount of money for me. I worked very hard for it and all I want is what is due me. I don't want to hurt your reputation, but so far you have not redeemed it for me. What you are doing does not make since. You cannot threaten people like this. You did not give me what I paid for over 8 months ago. Do you understand how frustrating it is. Angela. I am sorry to hear that someone else out there has had these problems I am experiencing. Although hopefully two voices will be stronger than one, and we can help warn others to be wary. When I delt with Dawn she also wanted all money upfront. She wanted the full amount weeks before I wsa even scheduled to pick up the dog. I would have rather gave her the money upon exchange for what I was receiving, and I wish now I would have followed my gut and not sent full payment without receiving anything from her. All I want is my $200 back that I paid in addition to the dog's price just to have his full registration papers. It's rediculous and completely unprofesional that I have not received them and that Dawn has NOT initiated a single conversation about these papers to let me know what is going on with them. I have writen ALL emails first and made all phone calls to her. I would like to take some legal action or do what I can through the AKC, but unfortunately I am new to dealing with AKC and I'm not sure how to proceede. If you have any information on this process, please let me know. Maybe we could join together someway. I have every email between Dawn and I saved in my email account saying the price of the dog with and without papers showing that I paid extra for the papers, as well I have reciepts from my money orders showing full payment for the dog. I wrote "full payment" on the money order, and by her cashing it it becomes a legal contract saying she agrees the dog is paid in full. As well I have contracts with her signature stating that she owed me the papers. I have a great case against her, and I would rather proceed through AKC first. I would of course rather to avoid causing any problems and this could be solved quickly and easily if Dawn would simply mail me $200.

This has to STOP!!! If you had a case against me you would have sued me by now you have had seven weeks to do this. You do not even have a puppy from me. You are not a lawyer and you do not represent anyone that is involved. You just have no life and for some reason you find that you can not live without being a part of mine. I am not asking anyone to state anything that is not true or unreal. I just want to make sure that everyone that is named by this vindictive person will state that I have followed thru with my obligation to them and that they have been satisfied with the outcome. I know that the quality of the dogs is great and that is not the issue it is just the fact that I dropped the ball on getting the papers finished and I have never stated that I was not in the wrong about that. But non of this ever had anything to do with Angela Maynard of Tinsel Town Shih Tzus. She has gone as far as to call the Division of Family Services to try and get my chilren taken away from me by stateing to them that I had a very unclean house and that my house had animal feces covering the floor 1 inch thick and that I did not care. I have OCD and I can not live like that. I am not going to say that I am a great house keeper but I do not live with animal feces or feces of any kind in my home. The DFS worker came to my home and found that the report was done to hurt me and my family and that it was found to be untrue and very false. She looked thru everything in my home I felt violated but I let this person look since I have nothing to hide. The worker was not happy with the fact that her time had been wasted on a false report when "there is truely children out there that need help and she was here investigating the rantings of a lunatic."
Angela Maynard had a very unnecessary c-section done on her dog Tashie. Her dog had just finished whelping and she knew better than the x-ray that she had done before the litter was born and took the girl to Petsmart and had them do a c-section on her because she knew that there was one more puppy, she did not have them do another xray or give her a shot of ocitocine first she just had to have one more puppy at the expense of poor tiny Tashie. That is what I call money hungry! This is also the same female that she wanted to feed Black Cohosh Tea to force her into a premature heat. Also she would contunually shove q-tips in the poor girl to check for heat instead of whipping with toilet paper and watching for swelling and a change in exterior color. When this poor girl had a hot spot Angela refused to take Tashie to the vet and she just put a Elizabethan collar on her and some neosporin when Taz got an eye ulcer she did the same thing. She refuses to spend money on medical treat ment for her dogs but she will go out and buy her and her husnand roller blades. Now knowing all this would you want to send your beloved baby puppy to this woman? Well, NOT me! When I found this out and other things I got very very scared of her granted the Csection was after but not any of the other was and she had done alot of stuff prior to this that made me not want to send her a stuffed toy let alone a live puppy. Can you really blame me for not wanting this woman to have my puppy that I love so much. And this is where this has all started.
Angela Maynard has nothing better to do than harrass me and my family now. She is out of control and with all these breeders that think that she is telling the truth just wait till you do something that she does not like you will be next on her list. To go after poor defencless children that have nothing at all to do with this was above and beyond malicious and vindictive. So Angela sue me if you like but please leave my children out of this. Angela you can not deny this my lawyer is getting the report from DFS and they say where the call came from and the name of the person was also listed with a number. I plan to post this record here when I get my copy from the lawyer.

I have been informed that the puppies from all litters that have not been registered will not be registered until I have retracted my statement, regarding these people not receiving their AKC registration papers. My name is Angela Maynard, Owner of Tinsel Town Shih Tzus. I sent Dawn $500.00 earlier this year, for a puppy. The deal was 500.00 down and she would get a puppy back from the result of a breeding from this very puppy when she was of age to breed. Karen Benjamin, aka Karen Christensen, aka Karen Foias, Dawn's friend, constructed a ripoffreport and reported it to this website. The reason, Karen doesn't want competition from my stud because we live in the same area and offer stud service from the same lines. Dawn didn't want to send me a dog because she would not get her puppy back as soon as she would like. This woman is very money hungry; she insisted I send her money right away or there was no deal. The puppies were not even born yet. I was never told I had to pay extra for papers as Rachel was, but the dog I was to receive was AKC register-able. But she was going to be getting a puppy back worth $1500.00-$1700.00 dollars. More than enough for the price of the female I was to receive. The breeders who I have never talked to before today told me that I should not sell you a puppy and to distance myself from you that you are a liar and a rip off. Dawn never talked to anyone, and if she did it was only her telling them about me, what ever she could make up. I contacted one of the people whom she said contacted her. Linda stated that she never even spoke to Dawn put left a message; she was looking for a female for herself. Luckily Linda learned not to do business with Dawn. Linda then baught a dog from a reputable breeder.
Dawn has since emailed me very vindictive emails and accused me of not owning my own dogs. I finally sent her proof that I owned my dogs and that seemed to shut her up for the mean time. I have since contacted as many people that I could find out about, through one of her friend's, and found out that I am not the only person she has scammed. She owes not only Rachel, but three other people papers for their dogs. The dogs are now past 8 months old and no papers yet. Dee of Holy Shih Tzus was another person whom was scammed by Dawn. Dawn owes her papers for a champion sired male+ a puppy (from two litters ago), Dawn promised Dee, and others that she would have their papers to them by December 15th 2004. Still no papers. But I must admit the mail box story was a new one. Dawn even contacted Dee and told her that I sold Tazz, my only stud, when infact Dee was looking right at him because I sent her Tazz to use as a stud because she didn't have the papers Dawn promised her, for Dee's only male.
So, you see, round and round we go.
Dawn co-owns Melody, Lilo, and Koda. She cannot get a litter registered from these dogs without the other co-owners signature. This other co-owner has yet to be contacted to sign the papers for these litters, either has the owner of the stud.
Dawn can tell you, I am a liar that I sell all of the dogs I receive and what ever. But she has no proof to back anything up, except that I have sold dogs. The reasons, not that I need to justify myself, but every breeder comes across a male or a female they think they would like and find fault in them as they are growing up, or they find something more desirable to them. I am sure she has done the same thing. We all have. I have told Dawn that I will drop everything if she will give me my money back. The truth is she has done so many wheeling and dealings with other breeders she isn't able to produce enough puppies to pay all the breeders back and keep money for herself to keep up her kennel. All of the puppies she owes back die mysteriously. I have received letters from all involved. I am filling a legal complaint with the AKC. If you have been ripped off by her, I suggest that you do the same. This is the only way other people can be protected and breeders like this will know it is not okay to swindle anyone.

Danw's email address DID change at one point during our communication and it took me a while to find the new one. She did not send the papers in mid June as was promised and did not contact me to say why. I contacted her at the end of June and she told me her mail box was stolen and she didn't know what happened to the papers. I didn't hear from her a long time after that so I wrote again in August and she said she was getting ready to mail them.

Still never recieved them OR even heard from her. On Oct. 20 as she mentions we spoke, but only because I once again called her. This time she said that her dog ate the papers and she would see if my dog's papers was one of them and call me back. She still has not called me back. In her rebuttle she says she would be happy to refund the $200 yet I have not received it. At this point she is not answering any of my emails. I've sent 4 and am still waiting for ANY reply. I have all corespondace with Dawn saved and my accounts are correct. Her dogs are beautiful and quality, but I am unsure of why this problem cannot be resolved.

In fact there would not even be a problem if she would have just made effort to keep in touch and let me know what problems she was having. But the fact that she has made no effort to ever call or contact me makes it suspisous. All I am asking is for a refund of what I paid for in trust and have not yet recieved. I would warn you to be sure you receieve ALL of what you are paying for when you pay for it.

I have spoken with Rachel several times my phone number nor my email or website have changed she just does not know how to spell Shih-Tzus. I talked with her briefly on Oct.20, 2004. I told her of my dog getting into all of my papers in a file drawer and told her it was possible that they were there and I looked and found that her litters was on the list for replacement papers. Rachel never asked for a refund and I would have been happy to send her a $200.00 refund for the papers. Thank you for reading my side for I am honest and I breed quality dogs.
