I think this is the first time I have ever been suckered in by one of these scams!  I clicked on a link to a newspaper article about a mom who just happened to use two dental whitening products in conjunction with amazing results.  Picture of her right there with her gleaming white teeth.  Her son helped her find these products and promo codes, so she could get both product for under $3.  http://www.ws6alert.com/index.php?ntrk=JAS#  The website looks like a newspaper website and references that the product has been seen on: ABC, Forbes, CBS, CNN and USA Today.  Sounded totally legit.


I clicked on the first link to Dazzle Smile, filled in my info and was sent a text message that said I only had 10 minutes to finish filling out my billing info.  (Trying to rush you so you cannot even locate or read any fine print).  You are suppose to get a 14 day free trial for $1.97.


While filling out my info on the second link for Clean Whites, they actually have a clock counting down so you have to fill out your info within 5 minutes, makes you feel rushed.  Thankfully, there was some type of error and it wouldn't process my order and accidentally brought up the fine print.  I saw I would be charged 79.99 if I didn't return the order within 14 days.  If I did return it, I would be charge 7.14 for s/h.


I immediately checked the Dazzle Smile site and could find no fine print and thought just the Clean White one was a scam.  I went back to the original "newspaper article".  And found the fine print for both products at the very bottom.  Dazzle White was going to cost me 58.76/mo and they were going to sign me up for two other products as well.


Called the 866 number to "cancel my membership at anytime" and was told the order was already sent to the warehouse and could not be cancelled.  Stayed on the phone for 5 min and was transferred to "floor supervisor" who informed me there was nothing she could do, no one else I could talk to, and then she finally hung up on me when I wouldn't take no for an answer.


Someone called to confirm my order and I told him to cancel it, which he of course couldn't do, and referred me to the first number I had tried.  I told him he should try to get a job with a company who wasn't in business to rip people off.  Not sure what his real purpose was in confirming the order if he didn't have the power to cancel but whatever...


I plan to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau at bbb.org and with the Fed at ftc.gov.


GOOD NEWS - I used my debit card and called my bank to see if they could cancel the charge.  They said they couldn't cancel the 1.97 since it was already sent but they could block any additional charges from them.  Tomorrow I am going to get a new debit card with a new number.  So I actually do get to keep my free sample.  Not sure if I actually want to try it though, knowing what kind of company it is coming from!!


My advice, change your credit card number as quickly as possible after you have been suckered by these guys so no more charges will be incurred.  Good luck!
